Colin stood at the door with a grin on his face not showing a hint of fear the sword underwent a transformation its form reshaping into a deadly spear which was a unique sight its shaft was as dark as night an unrelenting black like the depths of the abyss but at the same time it was also adorned with vibrant streaks of red as if was imbued with the essence of fire and blood while facing Colin it suddenly thrusted forward going past Charon in the blink of an eye and slightly grazing him. The spears tip pierced and nether beasts head and completely destroyed it chunks of its remains were now littered everywhere the spear disappeared as if it was never there leaving a corpse behind. Colin was also looking at the dead abomination then looked back to the towering figure in front of him "For the record I knew it was following us" The towering figure laughed then added "Really now and here l assumed you're working together can't stand rats so state your business unless you don't want to end up like that" Charon froze not because of the threat but the person who had said it was Elena the Night Seeker.
The vice-captain of the thorns she had short black hair yellow piercing eyes quite muscular as well her brown skin was illuminated under the night sky with leadership she was the same height as Collin but taller by a few inches she had scars which looked like sword wounds covering some parts of her body from her torso to her hands. Right now she was wearing a black tunic with a brown sash and some brown sandals. If Charon had been a tad bit shorter he could have seen a whole lot but quickly snapped out of his day dreaming because Colin and Elena were just staring she grinned and said "well l would have prepared a feast to greet visitors but wine will do that's the only thing left in this damned city" Charon wondered if heroes greet their guests with spears but he was in no position to retort instead he said "Well l didn't expect the vice-captain of the thorns to be in this rundown inn".
She laughed "well this is the only place that's still intact same goes for the wine cellars" Charon gathered his courage to reply to but Colin interrupted by saying "were just looking for a place to sleep will you accommodate us night seeker" He said with a whimsical look on his face
Elena's eye twitched then her attention went back to Colin she slowly walked towards Charon then looked at him in the eyes Charon craned his neck to match her gaze because he knew she probably wasn't alone and the fact that she hadn't killed them on the spot means something happened between them and Uryan . She took a while examine Charon with her eyes then said "Interesting you're not of the living and neither the dead" she added a smirk "l guess it's makes sense in order to be working with that bastard" She was clearly referring to Colin but he simply smiled and opened the door to the dinner and went inside.
Elena then hinted l do the same as we entered the atmosphere was somewhat calm despite the disaster outside the inn was clean the floor tiles were polished brown oak with which seemed to have been carved from the forest south of from the city .Charon had been here so many times but it felt like the first time he truly saw the dinner with great detail the smell of grape wine lingered and oak wood created a subtle environment Charon looked to the ceiling which was bright with a single ord lighting up the entire inn "That's an arktec ord one of the latest versions how and why is it here ?" said Colin with a strange expression on his face whilst gripping the cane in his hand .
"that's not something l can answer for it was like this when l came here it is indeed strange considering this dinner's is still clean and not a spec of blood" she grabbed a chair and sat down there was a bottle of red wine on the table " no dust either on the bottles no signs of panic everything is neatly arranged as well" said Elena then a polished oak cup appeared from thin air as if it was always there "is this your doing night seeker" Charon asked "Well yes and no moments ago l couldn't even open the cellar until l saw you guys coming this way" She poured the wine into the oak cup then continued to say "This place is someone's ability and l suspect whoever told you to come here "To Charon it suddenly made sense only one person had told him to come there but he was forgetting the name and everything else all he could remember was a weird briefcase.
After a few moments Charon stared at the table Elena was sitting at he was seeing something moving from the cup the wine was slightly vibrating but everything was perfectly still that was the problem everything froze as if this moment was always like this Charon was trying to understand what was happening as he froze still same for Colin and Elena then a sound of wings flapping grew louder and louder as if it was coming in their direction.
Moment later the sound stopped but Charon could see the vibrations and feel them it was like watching a string vibrate but he could detect every building collapsing light poles being buzzing on and off even nether beasts in the area east to the dinner it was amazing feeling it seeing it like he was in the sky watching as the city moved but that feeling did not last long a splitting headache came faster that he could register all the sudden the vibrations grew chaotic it sounded and felt like a melody at first now it was disorder because he couldn't registers every sound and movement made Charon fell to his knees clenching his arms against his ears but he could still hear it but that's wasn't the problem he could see it as well a red threads everywhere moving snapping creating a more discord to his already bleeding ears and bloodshot eyes. Then all the sudden it was pitch black he found himself in the dinner but this time no one was there not Colin or Elena but instead a familiar face one he would never forget.
Casually sipping red wine whilst wearing a janitors uniform without a care in the world then the imposter looked at Charon giving him a stern look then said "Truth be told even l wasn't expecting to see you this soon but there's been a slight change of plans on my end meaning your end as well" Charon was dumbfounded completely lost on what the imposter was talking about. The imposter then added l need you to kill Elena "Then went back to sipping on the wine.
