Colin was walking quite leisurely despite being almost surrounded by nether beasts he calmly lifted his cane and thumped it on the ground after that strange golden symbols appeared on the beasts head identifying them as dawn screamers and it read as "cursed by daylight free in darkness "Charon wondered it was still midday till he realised as long as there's darkness this beasts a free to roam around and so many of them at that.
Colin then said "ah this wasn't mentioned in the agreement well it doesn't matter "He looked at me then took out a small makeshift dagger made from a tooth of a very large beast the handle was wrapped in a blooded cloth. "You do know how to defend yourself right catch "As he threw the dagger at Charon in hopes he would catch but instead Charon managed to trip over his own foot and fall down face first in the blood which was a mix of both human and beasts meaning smell would truly be one to remember .The dagger landed next to Charon's face piercing the ground and showing a reflection of his face.
He heard a small chuckle from Colin's direction. Charon stood up grabbed the dagger wiped his face with his jacket sleeve but the smell remained and he acted as if nothing happened .Colin was still smiling then said "am guessing you don't have much combat experience besides haggling and stealing " Charon just nodded "now that you know what's the plan the beasts are starting to regain their senses" he was saying this out of fear it was his first time seeing so many nether beasts in one place. Colin simply looked at the monstrosities and simply held out his and strings appeared and they extended from his hand to all the beasts and the strings wrapped themselves around their necks.
With a simple pull of his threads they tighten around their necks and where cut clean off some struggled and tried to touch the thread and reap it off but failed because their hands simply went through it more than twenty dawn screamers died excruciating deaths unfortunately he couldn't kill all of them the remaining screamers all focused their gaze on Colin they were now running full speed towards us some where climbing buildings to attack from above others went around the alleyway all the sudden there was no sound there were no screamers charging at us everything was quiet .Then Charon heard Colin's voice in his mind saying "they can cancel the sound of their movements as well as their presence but since its only cloudy there's only one way we can see them " An invisible claw went passed Charon's face which he would have lost if Colin hadn't pushed him out of the way Charon looked at him petrified by fear then glancing back at the dismembered pieces of people around he started panicking.
Colin simply lured the beast toward him as it drew closer a thread which was attached to a fire hydrant and a park bench chopped of its legs leading it to fall face downward but it did not it transferred all its strength to its arms and propelled its self into the air and turned invisible. With the lack of light making it harder to find a reflective surface he was sweating and his patience running thin he could tell the beasts was smart so it didn't attack him head on Colin spread his threads around his body to catch any vibration but it wasn't working .He sent a Charon a telepathic message saying "don't move no matter what" He put his hand up in the air then the threads he was using turned from ethereal to golden. Shining on broken glass then a particular reflection caught his eye. I showed the beast without legs closing its mouth around him but he simply ducked as it closed it jaws catching nothing but wind .Colin used his threads to create a whip and tried to catch the beast within it the beast simply used one of its arms to touch the ground and push itself against it lifting higher from the ground dodging Colin's whip but he had expected that so he spun it around whilst holding the hilt as if trying to make a tornado then stopped and aimed the tip of the whip at the beast the tip was so fast causing a whistling sound as it cut through the air the moment it made contact against the beasts skin it exploded into a vortex of threads cutting the beasts into pieces. And lumps of tiny flesh where falling from the sky Colin smiled in delight at the scene before him then looked at Charon who seemed to be breaking down.
Charon witnessed the scene of the beast dying and wondered why was here he was not in combat but was confident in his ability to run away and he thought "If they catch Colin it will probably buy me a few minutes but there's a path l can use which leads to the gate but am l fast enough what if he dies and l die to what if there is no way out is this really how i die" whilst Collin walked towards Charon and put his hand on his head and said " yes if l die you die with me and l am the only one who knows the exit so with that in mind do everything l say or l feed you to this abominations and find another sod to fill your role so what will it be " Charon was frozen with fear from Colin's words but knew he had a point will he waste another second chance at life or just follow orders he didn't like the idea of forever following Colin as a shadow he wanted more than that he wanted to be stronger than Colin and that bastard Uryan he to dreamed of wearing expensive suits and living a life of luxury and power.
So he looked at Colin and said what do you need me to do Colin smiled then said "you see that billboard over there brings back memories doesn't it l need you to break it" Charon simply nodded did a pitcher stance and threw the dagger he was holding with all his strength at the billboard behind them the dagger spun and hit its center of the screen the a web of cracks appeared then shards of glass were falling upon them but Colin had already planned for that.
Charon calmly looked at the falling shards of glass with his pupils dilated looking more sharper within the falling shards he was able to see the beasts from their reflections as clear as day looking through all the shards surrounding them as fast as he could an said to Colin " Six from above coming from the right three behind us and one to my right" In that moment ethereal threads launched in different directions grabbing the beasts from above then pulling them down and slamming against the three on land Colin's threads covered the beasts in with thread which took on the form of ball then Colin clenched his fist black blood covered the ethereal threads were now busked in black blood as Colin waved his hand blood spats covered every square inch of the alleyway.
"Good work at least your eyes were worth the investment "Charon looked at him with a forced smile and said "so when are going to explain this am pretty sure l deserve an answer at this point am not going to mindlessly follow you through this hell without a reason" . Colin looked at him the said "Sure long story short where going to kill uryan simple enough right "
