Chapter 15 - Chapter 14 – The Arrival of Dr. Bright

The God behind our system must've been in a merciful mood. For once, he wasn't throwing eldritch nightmares at us.No planet-eaters.No cognitohazards. No reality-warping abominations waiting to annihilate civilization in a tantrum.

Instead… he sent people.

Useful people.

Helpful ones.

And the most useful so far?

SCP‑963: Dr. Jack Bright.

The moment he appeared—necklace and all—I knew exactly what we were dealing with. The immortal scientist, the anomaly who refused to stay dead, the sarcastic genius who would eventually torment entire Site staffs for entertainment.

But right now?

Right now he was mine.

My assistant.O5‑1's personal asset.

"Administrator," he said with a polite bow, clearly trying to figure out why Alexander the Great suddenly looked like a beautiful immortal young woman. "I assume we're not in Kansas anymore."

"No," I said, grinning. "We're in the ancient world, building the SCP Foundation centuries early. Congratulations—you're part of history."

He blinked. Then smiled."Fantastic. Let's make the future cry."

A Genius Meets a Greater Genius

He was good—brilliant even.Sharp, sarcastic, quick on his feet, and absolutely delighted to be out of containment under someone who actually understood science.

But compared to me?

He wasn't even close.

Not with the talents I'd bought. Not with the supernatural intelligence. Not with the literal divine‑tier knowledge of every scientific field.

Still, he made a wonderful second pair of hands.

We worked together in a sealed chamber lit by bulbs I'd invented centuries too early—electric light flickering over blueprints spread across stone tables.

Dr. Bright stared at one of my designs, jaw slowly lowering.

"You're inventing early‑era computers… in the Bronze Age," he said.

"And electricity grids," I added cheerfully.

"And hydraulic plumbing, thermal regulation systems, reinforced steel production… How are you—actually no. You know what? I don't want to know. I'm just here for the ride."

I smirked.

"You're welcome."

Shaping the Future With Impossible Technology

Together, we reverse‑engineered concepts thousands of years early:

primitive circuit boards

early vacuum‑tube logic systems

experimental generators

standardized metal alloys

sterilized surgical instruments

reinforced underground architecture

security systems with basic sensors

In a world where most nations still relied on candles and bronze tools, our bases were practically futuristic bunkers.

Dr. Bright walked through our latest facility with his hands behind his back, whistling.

"You realize we just made the most advanced building on Earth by about… what? Twenty‑three centuries?"

"Twenty‑four," I corrected. "But who's counting?"

"You are," he said with a sigh. "You definitely are."

He wasn't wrong.

The Foundation Grows Stronger

Every week, more loyal recruits joined us.Every month, another base was completed.Every year, our influence grew across continents while remaining unseen.

Dr. Bright made an excellent administrator under me—handling personnel, paperwork, moral support, sarcastic comments, and occasionally threatening to possess someone as a joke.

He even fit surprisingly well into ancient clothing, though he hated sandals with a passion.

But most importantly:

He helped me accelerate our technological curve far beyond what the old world had ever seen.

The ancient era would never know what hit it.
