Xiao was equally delighted. This was his first child in two lives—an event of special significance.

Qin Huairu's low cry was full of tears of joy. Married to Xiao for six years, she had endured countless glances and silent frustrations over her inability to bear children. Now, all her efforts were finally rewarded.

"It's not necessary. They don't dare, and they can't!" Xiao said confidently. His continuous expansion of power in recent years gave him absolute confidence.
Those with ill intentions would not dare to act against Qin Huairu. Her pregnancy alone was a signal that even the superiors would see him as finally relenting.
Still, Xiao felt he needed to demonstrate his strength once more, to warn anyone with malicious intent: the mouse will always huddle underground and never show its head, but if it does… it will be over in a second.
