Chapter 17 - Chapter 17 — Bloodline Inheritance

The success of the Dimensional Key gave Xiao the foundation to chase even bolder ambitions. He began to explore the possibilities of the Dimension Farm like never before.

For instance, if two concepts could be fused and still produce crops, it would mean Xiao could create truly legendary things—most importantly, a bloodline inheritance.

In myths and legends, whether it was the monsters from Eastern mythology, or a dragon from Western fantasy, or any other powerful alien race, these beings rarely had the reproductive capabilities of humans. Yet they could dominate the world on par with humanity. Their secret lay in blood inheritance.

They imprinted their immense power and knowledge directly into their lineage. At the right moment, all descendants would awaken the inheritance of their clan. These inheritances included everything: strength, talent, and—most importantly—knowledge.

This is how the strongest alien species stood shoulder to shoulder with humans. Even if offspring were rare and survival rates low, those who lived would be powerful enough to crush ordinary humans without effort.

What Xiao aimed to create was similar—but tailored to his Xiao family. He wanted to imprint his own abilities into his bloodline, passing his strength and knowledge down to future generations.

Through the infinite expansion of his bloodline, he could absorb superior genes, continuously optimize his lineage, and eventually make the entire clan a fortress of power.

To create a racial inheritance, one must first understand blood. Blood is genes. Blood is the continuation of life.

It is the river that flows through human history. Every living person is a witness to that river. Family, love, desire—all serve the survival of the bloodline. To ensure its continuation is instinctive, it is life's primary directive.

At the same time, blood carries infinite potential. While human bloodlines are weaker than alien lifeforms, life instinctively encodes the best of itself into its genes, passing it on to the next generation.

Humans are no exception. Through generations of optimization, human genes have become more capable, producing greater talent and latent power. Yet humans tend to favor creativity and wisdom over brute strength. This focus is what allowed humans to develop civilizations that tower above others.

Because of this, many innate abilities lie dormant, hidden within bloodlines. They may not manifest in one generation, but they could awaken in the next.

That is why some humans display extraordinary talents: photographic memory, perfect pitch, superhuman senses, innate supernatural abilities, or even iron-like bones. These exceptional traits are latent within human bloodlines, waiting to be discovered.

Xiao's goal was to expand his bloodline's capacity, embedding his own abilities and knowledge so that future generations of the Xiao family could inherit them.

Before embedding inheritance, Xiao had to strengthen his bloodline. Mortal-level blood was too weak to hold a substantial inheritance.

Fortunately, his bloodline had already been enhanced by Compound V. After awakening his superpower, he had evolved to superhuman level, and the abilities granted by Compound V could now be passed to descendants.

For example, Soldier Boy passed his strength Homelander, in turn his children inherited the same formidable abilities.

But before expanding inheritance, Xiao first had to establish a bloodline template—a foundational structure ensuring inheritance could be accurately encoded.

Xiao quickly realized that embedding inheritance was not simple. It required a foundation: the bloodline's power itself.

Blood is like a memory card. Bloodline inheritance is the data stored within it. The bloodline must have enough capacity to "import" additional data before inheritance can be encoded.

This forced Xiao to meticulously design a data layout.

He began with experimental products to establish a baseline value of 1.

Extracting all bloodline power equaled 1 point of memory, similar to concept crops.

10 points → first-order bloodline100 points → second-order bloodline1,000 points → third-order bloodline

Luckily, America's streets were never short of morally flexible subjects. Those who had died without NYPD intervention made the perfect test samples.

The work of the Mo family provided Xiao with ample experimental data, allowing him to finally create a basic bloodline value board.

After counting, Xiao discovered his bloodline's power held roughly 11,650 memory points—level 4, level 1. These powers were clearly the result of Compound V.

The more Xiao studied Compound V, the more unscientific it seemed.

Who could imagine that a drug weighing mere grams, combined with human genes, could produce such terrifying effects?

It led Xiao to wonder whether the raw materials of Compound V were fragments of a celestial being (akin to Marvel's Celestials) that had fallen to Earth and been discovered by Vought.

Otherwise, how could a few chemicals grant such power? Comics might not care about science, but the real world does.

For now, Xiao chose not to investigate further.

Without absolute invincibility, poking at such mysteries could only end badly.

Curbing curiosity was a key to survival. Knowing the source of ultimate power rarely changed one's situation, but it could easily end your life.

Even if one knew the truth, what would it gain them? Aside from irritating the unknown entity, nothing.

To survive in a world of rules, Xiao believed: obey the rules, then exploit them—never break them blindly.

He liked the words of Liu Bang:

"You are dead. What kind of face do you want? Save your life first, let's talk about the rest later."

Sometimes, shameless pragmatism is the key to success. Liu Bang had proven it—founding an empire with nothing but survival instinct and cunning.

Xiao nodded to himself.

This was exactly the approach he would take with his bloodline inheritance.
