"What!" some snapped with annoyed looks on their faces. Scott pointed to the screen that held Percy Jackson. they turned at first not knowing what the cause for alarm was. Percy was still standing in the cell. Then they saw the four guards on the floor and one by the controls. Without another word, everyone jumped to their feet and ran out of the room, hitting the alarm on their way out. Well, everyone except Bruce who stayed seated and watched the screen, since he wouldn't be much help.
"Hill, lock down the Helicarrier, we have someone trying to free Jackson," Fury ordered into his com, red lights flashing. They rounded the corner to see the guards in a heap on the floor. Rage filled Tony thinking they were dead. They burst through the door, followed by several SHIELD agents. Much to their surprise what they saw was another kid around the same age, maybe a little taller than Percy, with blond hair and electric blue eyes. He was wearing the SHIELD uniform that was most definitely not his.
"Step away from the controls and put down your weapons," Fury ordered. Some of the agents had their guns pointed at the mysterious teen, while others were pointed at Percy. The blond kid turned his head slightly to meet Percy's gaze. Percy slightly shook his head. The blond stepped back from the control panel.
"Put down your weapons!" Fury ordered again.
"Release Percy." The teen snapped back in a demanding voice. Much to their surprise, his voice didn't hold any anger but it did hold authority and confidence. He was calm but his body was tense and ready for a fight.
"We can't do that, you need to put down your weapons and surrender. I will not ask again." Fury stated. His hand brushed over his gun, but he hadn't drawn it yet.
"I have no intention of surrendering, but I don't want to hurt any of you, so release Percy, and no one gets hurt." The blond-haired teen sent a glare their way that made some of them flinch. Percy ruined it when he gave a snort everyone turned to face them. The blond tilted his head again.
"Sparky, you still need help on your smack talk." Percy said, a small smile on his face.
"Really, you're going to talk about that now?" the kid asked. Tony chuckled at how funny the situation was, the two breaking the tension in the air. The blond teen stepped forward turning back to the group. A gunshot went off, and much to their surprise, the teen dodged the bullet, which just nicked his arm…and that was when all hell broke loose. The kid jumped into the air and was floating and dodging bullets. He controlled the air currents pushing them back up against the bulkhead.
"The kid's enhanced!" one agent shouted, pointing out the obvious, as many of them struggled to fight the wind.
"Percy!" the blond teen shouted. The team watched in amazement as a gold sword came out of nowhere and embedded itself into the glass walls. Percy who had backed up from the wall charged and broke through the glass, grabbing the sword on his way out, hitting the catwalk, rolling then standing up next to the blond kid.
"Okay that was badass," Scott said from somewhere. Just then, the blond kid was thrown backward as something hit him in the stomach which released everyone from the wind pressure that was keeping everyone on the wall.
"Crap, you okay sparky?!" Percy shouted. Then he too got hit by an invisible force.
"Yeah, I'm fine!" Sparky stated as he got to his feet.
"That was pretty cool how you broke out, but if you don't mind surrendering..." Tony said, aiming his repulsors at the two teens.
"I aim to please, and that glass is a lot tougher than it looks," Percy said, rolling his shoulder with a slight grimace.
"Percy!" the blond teen shouted, throwing something in the air. Percy spun, tossed the sword back to the blond kid, and caught a handgun in one fluid movement before turning and facing the attackers again and pointing the gun right at Fury. They were at a standoff again. The sword seemed to have disappeared, but the blond was holding the machine gun.
"Okay just wow," Scott said from behind Percy. Jason pointed the machine gun at his now human sized chest.
"I really don't want to hurt anyone, just let us pass," Percy said, his tone serious, his face blank.
"We still have you outnumbered," Clint shouted, his bow drawn and aimed at Percy's chest.
"True…" He paused for a moment, then said "Sparky?" without turning around to face his friend.
"Stop calling me that." The blond retorted.
"Operation Fury?" Percy called. Everyone looked confused, so they didn't see the blond give a little nod. Percy held out his other hand and the bulkhead began to groan, which was the only warning before the walls exploded, water crashing onto the SHIELD agents and Avengers. When they finally got their bearings again, the two teens were gone.
"Code Red, Code Red. Two enhanced teens, armed and dangerous. Do not let them escape." Fury shouted, getting back to his feet. "Well, what are you waiting for, an invitation? After them!" he shouted to the group still sprawled on the floor.
"I want them alive if possible," Fury added as the Avengers ran, following the path the teens most likely took.
They rounded a corner and saw both teens preparing to break through one of the glass windows.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you, that is made-" Tony didn't finish as their weapons connected with the reinforced glass, blowing a hole big enough for them to jump through. Getting over their shock, they ran to the hole, seeing the blond carrying Percy as he flew away.
"Clint!"
"I know!" Clint shouted. He sent two arrows flying, hitting the blond in the back. The kid's flight was disrupted and the two teens started falling from the sky. Rhodey and Sam jumped out of the hole to catch the fast-falling teens. Coming back to the ship, they landed back at the hole. The Avengers backed up as the teens were dumped on the floor the blond was unconscious, Percy was not; he looked up giving everyone a glare which made many of the agents even a couple of the Avengers back up.
"That was foolish." Steve stated. The kid was smart enough not to move. He did give a worried glance at his friend then a look at all the guns pointed at him. They were surrounded.
"You can't blame a guy for trying," Percy said, slowly shifting himself so that he was sitting on his knees. He raised his hands in surrender. Immediately, they were roughly pulled behind his back and he was forced to lay flat on the deck. He gave an irritated 'hey' as his hands were cuffed and he was hoisted to his feet. Some agents were beginning to carry Percy's friend away.
"Don't hurt him!" he shouted and tried to follow his unconscious friend, but he was pulled back with enough force that he was on the ground again. He grunted and the agents pulled him back to his feet again. Fury was right in front of him, his face showing, well, fury.
