Chapter 16 - CH 16

Inside, they were met with the rest of the avenger. The SHIELD agents uncuffed the two teens. The group tensed, half expecting the two teens to try and bolt right away, but that didn't happen; they just rubbed their wrists, stretched, and looked around the room.

"Pretty fancy for a prison." Percy finally said, more to Jason then to the gathered superheroes.

Tony scoffed "This is Avengers' compound, very few know where it is let alone see it. This also happens to be where most of the Avengers live."

"That doesn't change the fact we are still your prisoners." Jason stated. Steve and Scott grimaced slightly at that. The others looked at the teen in worry at the continued bluntness of his words.

"Let's show them where they will be staying," Bruce suggested, trying to break the tension. The Avengers nodded. They were led down a long corridor and up a flight of stairs until they reached two rooms adjacent to each other, both with open doors.

"All the Avengers live on this floor. These are your rooms, there will be a curfew. Once curfew hits, these doors will automatically lock and will not open again until two or more of the avengers are up and can watch you. Also, if you are found outside your room or try to escape, JARVIS is prepared to put the whole compound into lockdown as well as activate a sedative in those things around your necks." Both Percy and Jason instinctively touched the silver chokers on their necks.

"Who's Jarvis?" Percy asked, his hand dropping back to his side.

"I am JARVIS. Mr. Jackson and Mr. Grace, welcome to Avengers compound." both teens jumped and looked around wildly for the source of the voice. Some of the Avengers smiled at the reaction as many of them remember reacting the same way when they first met the AI.

"Jarvis is my AI he runs the whole facility. He is in every room except there are no cameras in the bathroom..." Tony trailed off. He wasn't going to tell them were still microphones in there though.

"Don't worry you'll get used to him." Clint whispered to both of them once they calmed down.

"A lot of security for two normal teens" Percy joked half heartedly.

"We know for a fact that neither of you is normal," Natasha said glaring at both of them, but neither Jason nor Percy were intimated, which seemed to annoy her, but she didn't show it.

"Any questions?" Sam asked.

"Yeah, I got one. Are we expected to wear these clothes the entire time we are here?" Percy asked, gesturing to their gray sweat pants and gray t-shirts that both of them were wearing, also wiggly his toes showing their still bare feet.

"Yeah and what about supplies like toiletries." Jason added.

"The bathrooms in each of your rooms are fully stocked with anything you will need, as for other stuff-" Tony pulled out two pads of paper. "-write down anything else you need or want. If it is within reason and warranted we will get it for you. As for clothes, write down what you prefer to wear and your size." Both teens shared a look and grabbed the writing equipment. They walked into their respective rooms.

"We will let you settle into your rooms, we will be back in an hour to show you around," Steve said as the doors shut.

Percy sighed and looked around the room. It was pretty large; it looked more like a mini apartment rather than a room minus a kitchen; there was a king-sized bed up against one wall with a nightstand on either side with a lamp. There was a desk by the window, which was not made out of normal glass. Then there was the bathroom. It was large with a tub that looked more like a small swimming pool, there was the shower, next to that was a large sink with a mirror cabinet. He checked all the drawers, and just like Stark said, the bathroom was stocked with unopened bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash as well as shaving equipment, toothbrush and toothpaste, and other hygiene products. Walking back out into the main room, he checked the only other door, and was surprised to see a large walk-in closet. Checking all the drawers, he found a couple more sets of the same gray clothes and a pair of white shoes.

He combed the rest of the room, finding listening devices and a couple of cameras, which for the most part he left alone, since they were trying to show these Averages that they could be trusted. Once he was done, he walked over to the desk and wrote down some clothes he would like to have so he didn't have to wear the same boring gray every day. He stared at the paper, trying to think of anything else he could ask for. He didn't need much, considering that he was always on quests where all he needed was ambrosia and his trusty sword. He would love to have some drachmas so he could contact camp and his mom to let them know he was alright, but he couldn't ask for that. He sighed and just left the list short, only asking for the clothes and a pair of shoes.

Jason didn't care what the room looked like. He didn't trust these people, and he was right to think that, since he and Percy were being held prisoner. He wondered if anyone else would come to rescue them, maybe the Hunters of Artemis or other campers. He pushed away the thought. He didn't want more of his friends getting caught. He was stupid and tried to come alone; he had underestimated the mortals.

He sighed and began combing the room, finding cameras and listening equipment. 'Looks like they don't trust us either.' Jason thought to himself, leaving the stuff alone and making a mental note on where everything was. He walked to the desk to write on the pad. He wrote down clothes and shoes. He also added glasses with the prescription next to it, since he left his glasses at camp. He squinted at the paper, hoping things were spelled right. He didn't want the Avengers to know he had dyslexia. They probably already knew that both he and Percy had ADHD, but they didn't need to know anything else that could help them track down other demigods since many demigods have dyslexia.

With the Avengers

"That didn't take them long," Clint said as they watched the two teens comb the room, searching to find the cameras and listening devices.

"Do you think it was a good idea to put fake listening devices and cameras in there? We want the kids to trust us." Banner asked, knowing JARVIS's surveillance equipment was in the walls and ceiling.

"No, I think they would be more suspicious if they didn't find anything." Natasha stated thinking that's what she would think. "These two are obviously trained." The others nodded in agreement.

"Do you think they are a part of the Red Room or maybe Hydra?" Sam asked. Nat glared at him momentarily, but then shook her head.

"No, I don't think they are a part of the Red Room." The Red Room liked to use girls more than guys, but it had been a while since she had been there. Also, as far as she knew, the Red Room was destroyed.
