Chapter 10 - BEEN NERVOUS

Tricia POV

"Two thousand dollars for a bottle of wine isn't small, it's really expensive. I guess you used your one-year earnings to get it," I said.

Johnny got up, and it felt like he was going to hit me but Morgan pulled him back.

"You can think whatever you want," he said.

I felt like laughing but because he is going to marry me didn't allow me. What if he gets angry and hits me? It would be my fault.

I watched how he walked with Johnny down the stairs and joined the other men.

Alonso was talking and laughing with a man who looked older than him. My eyes drew to another man, and it seemed I had seen him before with Alex. Waving the thought off, my phone rang.

Looking at the screen, I saw Miguel's name. Miguel Field, my boyfriend. Morgan stared at my nervous face and walked to me. I prayed with all that was within me that he wouldn't look at my phone.

"What is that?" He asked.

"It's nothing important," I said, and he walked away. It felt weird but I looked away.

It was good that he didn't bored looking into my phone. I walked to take my seat. Alonso and a dark young man jumped over some couches to take their sit beside me.

"Tricia, meet Bernard," he said.

"Brena...." I was saying when I noticed him as my brother's friend.

"Tricia Bliss!" Bernard stretched out his hand to me but I shook my head.

I asked why a lot of men I had seen were Alex's friends. Bernard laughed, calling ex-friends. This made me worry about what wrong Alex had done to them, but before I could talk, Alonso spoke.

"We had been moving with Alex for a long while, but he chose to be against us. We met Morgan and chose to be loyal to him."

"Then, why am I here?" I sniffled.

"Your protection," Bernard said.

I didn't understand what he meant by that but looked away, anyway. I hope all this makes sense at the end of the day. My plan was to ask Morgan before we sleep, to explain.

Minutes later, I heard a laughter. It reminded me of my father and bore a pain in my heart. My eyes flew to a big screen, and I couldn't believe what I had just seen, a car with Alex's plate number crashed into my parent's car and ran off.

I looked around and saw everyone's eyes focused on the screen. My eyes were red. Now I have nothing else than to believe that Alex killed our parents.

"I will get my revenge," I said out, remembering how Alex usually blamed me for our parents' deaths.

All faces turned to me, and I was sort of confused. Alonso whispered in my ear, telling me that I could only achieve it when I joined them. I couldn't understand what he meant by that but he looked away.

There was probably a secret that they were all hiding from me. First is about Morgan. Why would Alex's friends leave his large organization for a smaller one because he did something outrageous?

I couldn't wrap my head around it. Who is Morgan? This is the next thing I need to find. My mind was formally on the person who murdered my parents but now the puzzle has been solved. It was only needed for me to carry out my revenge on Alex.

Morgan smiled and walked towards me. "You can't easily get what you seek."

My heart jumped immediately when he said this, and I wondered if he was reading my mind.

The screen was changed and I saw my picture.

"What's this?" I asked.

Morgan wore a smile on his face and I saw my wear transform into a male wear. Johnny walked to me and smiled.

"From tomorrow, you will not only be leaving to your house with Morgan but you will also be transformed," he said.

My mouth opened to make a sound but none came out. "Whatever Alex had done is wrong." Kept replaying in my mind.

"Tricia!" I felt a strong hand hold me and looked up. It was Bernard.

I wore a weak smile looking at him and he promised that they all would support me. Looking at their faces, I knew they were not all in support of this.

"Bernard, enough!" Morgan sounded. "You know what we need her for."

I couldn't believe what I just heard. Morgan needed me for something. Is there any other reason he chose to get me from my brother?

Looking with worry on my face, I turned to go up but stopped when my phone rang. I stared at it again and it was Miguel. My heart broke as I remembered how we loved each other.

"Where are you going?" I heard someone ask as I ran up but I didn't know who it was. All I wanted was to go up to the room and weep out my eyes.

Spending hours in the room, I felt useless as no one came to check on me. My husband, who I called loving, didn't check on me. What if I was dead by now?

I decided to check on what they were doing. Getting to the ground floor, it seemed like they were having a meeting. They all stared at me as I stood.

Is that the small organization or small group Morgan ran? I smiled inwardly. There are a lot of things I need to find out about Morgan.

"Hi," I waved to some of them. "Did I interrupt anything?"

They all shook their head.

To say that I wasn't nervous would be a mistake. I stared at some of the young men and it felt like they were boring into my soul.

"Kindly take your seat," Morgan said and I nodded.

He walked to the couch I sat on and sat down putting his hands across my neck.

Alonso got up with a camera and took our picture together.
