There was no doubt that the suicide tactics currently employed by the chaos forces, while posing no real harm or threat to the Dominion fleet, did indeed hard-cc the Dominion fleet for a few seconds.
Even a force as strong as the Dominion fleet was genuinely bewildered by this turn of events; they never expected the enemy's final move would be to rush in and die.
"General, the enemy has completely vanished into our psionic shields. Should we remain here, or continue on our journey?"
This incident was so baffling to the Dominion soldiers that they were almost all stunned for a moment.
Fortunately, many of them quickly snapped out of it.
Without a moment's hesitation, Pixis made a decision.
"Continue towards our original objective. Ignore these chaotic distractions. Our primary goal is to find the Emperor."
Finding their Emperor was of utmost importance to the Terran Dominion, after all, wasn't the very reason their fleet was here to protect their Emperor?
"Understood."
The Dominion fleet slowly reoriented themselves once more, heading towards the designated warp rift.
Warp space is ultimately different from real space. Even though the Terran Dominion has no fear of the Warp, the Warp in every universe is unique.
If they flew in the wrong direction, even the Terran Dominion fleet would end up in the wrong place, requiring them to re-determine their position.
At this time, the Dominion had not constructed a sentinel array in this universe, and without one, there was no star map of the entire universe. Therefore, the Dominion fleet had to maintain its predetermined course.
The fleet's sensors could only detect targets and positions within 200 light-years. If they strayed, what if they lost the position of their Emperor? That would be disastrous!
The Terran Dominion fleet began to slowly continue along its predetermined course.
They paid no mind to the Nurgle fleet they had so easily crushed.
While this battle had a slight element of surprise, and even ended with an entertaining performance from the enemy, it was ultimately just a weak fleet. The Dominion fleet would at most record this incident and then move on.
Just as the Dominion fleet turned to search for their Emperor, a warp storm erupted in the Warp.
Who is Nurgle?
This fellow is known as the Grandfather.
The Terran Dominion destroying his Nurgle fleet in the Warp—how could that not catch his attention?
Nurgle, one of the four Chaos Gods, turned a portion of his gaze towards this Dominion fleet.
Just one look, and he couldn't tear his eyes away.
Psykers, powerful Psykers!
The entire Terran Dominion fleet, a fleet he had never seen before—which faction did it belong to? This was a human fleet, and all the crew members were powerful Psykers.
Moreover, humans at the mid-stage level of the Terran Dominion possessed powerful psychic abilities.
During that period, the Terran Dominion experienced a Great Awakening.
From that moment on, psychic power was no longer possessed by a small minority of individual humans but became a transcendent power available to all humanity.
"We shall become extraordinary, even saintly—"
At this time, the crew members of this mid-stage fleet, from when the Emperor was still present, were naturally all Psykers.
The weakest Psykers among them were Beta-level, and there were even a large number of Alpha-level Psykers present!
Such a discovery naturally made Nurgle quite excited.
It is well known that the Four Chaos Gods covet these Psykers, all of them hoping that Psykers would fall into the embrace of chaos more quickly.
Nurgle subtly allocated a portion of his power, preparing to corrupt these Psykers, but before he could act, the Mechanical Throne, located somewhere in the Warp, suddenly stirred.
The arrival of the Terran Dominion fleet provided the Mechanical Throne with more psychic energy. Sensing someone harboring intentions against its master's subordinates, the Mechanical Throne autonomously retaliated.
A colossal psychic palm materialized before Nurgle, followed by a fierce slap across his face, delivering a resounding smack.
One slap was enough to completely stun Nurgle.
For a moment, as one of the Four Chaos Gods, he was a little confused about what had just happened.
He seemed to have been hit just now, right? He seemed to have been hit?
Under the immense psychic palm, Nurgle ultimately chose to retract that sliver of his thought, but in his anger, he desired revenge.
As a Chaos God, Nurgle also had a temper. Although he was called Grandfather, that didn't mean he was truly a benevolent father.
A plague attack from Nurgle emanated from his hand, piercing through the Warp towards the Terran Dominion fleet.
Fleet AI: "Detecting an incoming psychic attack. Unable to analyze its origin at this time, but its attack data is extremely high. Rerouting power to shields for maximum output, but it is estimated that it will still be unable to prevent the attack."
"Query: Would you like to exit the Warp? Appearing in real space can effectively weaken the power of this round of attack."
"According to calculations, as long as we are in real space, the power of this psychic attack will be greatly reduced. Even if it cannot be 100% blocked, the damage it can inflict upon us will be limited."
The Dominion fleet's alarm blared, a piercing hum echoing through the compartments of every warship.
Commander Pixis abruptly rose from his command chair, his eyes fixed on the holographic tactical screen displaying the approaching psychic attack.
The intelligent AI wouldn't casually report any unfavorable situations, meaning the fleet's energy shields truly couldn't withstand the incoming psychic strike.
The problem is, once they appear in real space, what if the Emperor's location is more than 200 light-years away from their fleet?
How would they find the Emperor?
Warp drives need to cool down after use. If they can't get there quickly, what then?
Relying solely on superluminal flight wouldn't be so easy.
Although from the recent fleet battle in the Warp, he could deduce that the combat power of the fleet they just engaged was probably not very good, and their affiliated faction was probably not very good either.
But the problem was, that was only a judgment based on that one fleet.
And that entire fleet of warships was dilapidated and ugly.
From a certain perspective, such a tattered fleet would usually only be owned by space pirates.
Those space pirates actually had so many cruisers, a pirate fleet with two cruisers and a large number of auxiliary fleets.
From this point of view, the combat power of this universe is probably also very strong.
For the main fleet of the Dominion, it should be insignificant, but they are only a fleet of the Dominion's early technological level, and even their people are only at the Dominion's early genetic modification level.
So, in such a situation, it would be best for the Dominion fleet not to wander around in this universe, but to find the Emperor as soon as possible and see if they can help him. That is the priority.
Pixis thought this to himself and then inquired of the intelligent combat AI.
"Assuming we add the psychic amplification of the Custodes and all our naval ship crew, will the psychic shield be able to withstand this attack?"
The intelligent AI's processor flickered a few times, rapidly performing complex calculations.
The holographic projection on the bridge constantly shifted data streams, finally settling on an unsettling number.
"According to calculations, even if all members apply their psychic power to the shield to greatly amplify it, our chances of blocking this psychic attack are only 23%."
"There's a 20% chance this fleet will suffer a fatal blow, and a 60% chance we'll suffer significant damage. This unit advises against engaging the enemy here."
