Chapter 5 - #5Chapter 5 Goddess of Destiny

Taron voluntarily requested to leave Mount Olympus.

Although Uranus pretended to try and keep him, when Taron insisted, he was happy to go along with it and let Gaea escort him away, even though the divine banquet had just begun.

Compared to the harmony of their arrival, their departure was filled with a more oppressive atmosphere, clearly due to Taron's prophecy.

Uranus, with his absolute confidence in his own strength, displayed an unexpected magnanimity, but Gaea was not pleased.

Both her beloved husband and her cherished children were important to her, and Taron's prophecy would clearly affect their relationship, which Gaea absolutely did not want to see.

Thus, the Mother of Earth, who was always known for her gentleness, now had a cold expression, exuding the mighty pressure of a primordial god.

This was very unfriendly to a god with weak divine power like Taron, which was why Gaea had carefully restrained her aura when he arrived. Now, she made no secret of her displeasure with Taron.

"Prince Taron, do you know what impact your prophecy will have on the relationship between father and son? They should live in harmony."

"Noble Mother of Earth, I also did not wish to make such a prophecy, but I could not refuse His Majesty the King of Gods' request," Taron sighed, his tone helpless and his expression troubled.

"I can only report what I saw truthfully, as the great divine power of His Majesty the King of Gods is beyond our resistance."

Although Gaea was displeased, she knew Taron was telling the truth. She had seen him repeatedly try to decline on the divine platform, but Uranus had insisted, and he had no choice.

He, such a weak god, couldn't possibly defy the King of Gods' command, or fabricate pleasant lies to deceive the King of Gods. Regardless of which method he used, Uranus would surely not let Taron off.

But even though she understood, the gloom in Gaea's heart could not dissipate. She took a deep breath, trying to suppress her emotions, and asked again:

"Then, Prince Taron, will this prophecy truly come to pass? Is there a way to avoid it?"

"I would very much like to answer your question, noble Mother of Earth, great Queen of Gods, but I am truly too weak. I merely spoke of what I saw; I cannot interpret it."

"So whether it will happen or not, I do not know."

"Alright," Gaea disappointedly withdrew her gaze, no longer speaking, and pondered what to do in the future and how to mitigate the effects of this prophecy.

She ultimately did not vent her anger on Taron, because there was no need, and also because of the Mother of Earth's benevolence.

She returned Taron to the endless void, but just as she was about to leave and return, Taron suddenly spoke.

"Princess Gaea, if one day you have other thoughts, you can come to me again."

"By then, perhaps I can relieve your worries."

Gaea's lips twitched, as if she wanted to force a smile, but ultimately failed.

Although she felt that Taron, being so weak, couldn't possibly help, she still politely nodded and perfunctorily said, "Alright, thank you for your kindness, Prince Taron."

After speaking, she did not linger, hurrying back to Mount Olympus.

Upon her return, she immediately sensed the atmosphere, so quiet it was almost palpable.

The Twelve Titans bowed their heads, each displaying their obedience and deference, not daring to make the slightest movement, while Uranus calmly scrutinized them, observing their every action.

Uranus, symbolizing [Patriarchy], held absolute dominance over his children. This dominance was not only in divine power but also in status.

Facing this powerful father, the Twelve Titans were both reverent and fearful, entirely instinctively, like mice seeing a cat.

Their timid and cowardly behavior made Uranus increasingly disdainful, completely disbelieving that they had the ability to overthrow him.

As for help from relatives... Uranus's gaze drifted towards the distant horizon, where the sea lay. Pontus, the Sea God, another deity Gaea had conceived alone, resided there.

This deity, also possessing powerful divine strength, was stronger and more threatening than his children. Before he became the King of Gods, he held the same status as Uranus.

But now he was the King of Gods, and Pontus's divine power instantly seemed insignificant, still unable to threaten him.

Thinking this, he completely relaxed, but showed no trace of it on his face. His gaze, sweeping over his children, remained full of oppressive power.

Gaea returned to this scene and immediately became filled with worry for her children's future.

She thought for a moment, then went to Uranus's side and gently said in a soft voice, "Uranus, my beloved, perhaps things are not as we imagine."

"Prince Taron's abilities are too lacking; what he says may not be true. Perhaps we should consult a more noble existence."

Deep down, a sliver of hope still existed in her heart, preferring to believe that Taron's weakness was why his prophecy was inaccurate.

Uranus showed some interest and patiently replied, "Gaea, my Queen, who do you think we should ask?"

"Just recently, the noble Goddess of Night, Princess Nyx, gave birth to the Three Fates. They are observers of destiny, and perhaps they will know more."

"The Three Fates?" Uranus's eyes flickered. When these three were born, heaven and earth also underwent changes, signifying their powerful divine authority.

Although they were only observers of destiny, as long as they were connected to destiny, their power was unquestionable.

Moreover, no one could control destiny. Even observers of destiny were far more powerful than so-called prophecy gods; it was no exaggeration to say they were a world apart.

After all, prophecy was merely a subordinate branch of destiny, not to mention Taron was so weak that he seemed to not even fully control the divine office of prophecy, requiring his approval as the King of Gods.

Looking at it this way, asking Taron for a prophecy was indeed a mistake. Perhaps they should have consulted the Three Fates from the beginning.

No, that's not right. He shouldn't have paid attention to anything that weakling said in the first place; then he wouldn't need to ask these questions.

Uranus sighed inwardly, but still nodded, and said to Gaea, who was looking at him with concern, "Then after the divine banquet, we will visit those three respected Goddesses of Fate."

Gaea finally showed a relieved smile, but the next moment, Uranus gently pushed away her leaning body and said gently but firmly:

"Now, I think it's necessary to teach the children how to conduct themselves and fulfill their divine duties."

Gaea's smile immediately froze on her face.
