Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Mother Earth Revolts

The Father God of the three Fates?

Neither the God-King Uranus nor the Earth Mother Gaea had ever known that the three Fates actually had a Father God.

When the three goddesses were born, when they sensed the fluctuations, they clearly only detected the power of the esteemed Goddess of Night, Nyx.

This meant that the three Fates were conceived solely by Nyx.

Nyx, as one of the primordial gods, was undoubtedly powerful, so it was not surprising that she could conceive these three goddesses who could glimpse fate.

But how could there also be a Father God?

When these goddesses were born, they didn't sense his existence.

Uranus and Gaea didn't know that it was because Taren was too weak at the time, so weak that his power was completely covered by Nyx's powerful divine energy, leaving no fluctuations to leak out.

They wouldn't even think in that direction; in fact, their guesses were quite the opposite—

Could it be that the other party was too strong, and their power at the time was insufficient to perceive him?

After all, Uranus was not yet the God-King at that time, and Gaea was busy giving birth to the twelve Titans, and was in a weakened state during childbirth.

Thinking of this, a person immediately came to their minds: the dark twins born with Nyx, also one of the primordial gods, Lord Erebus.

"Esteemed goddesses, is your father Lord Erebus?"

Gaea asked, a little puzzled. As a primordial god herself, she knew that Erebus didn't seem to have authority over fate.

"Great and beautiful Queen of Gods, please forgive our impoliteness. Our Father God does not wish for too many people to know him and disturb him, so we cannot reveal his identity."

Clotho/Lachesis/Atropos spoke simultaneously, as if one person were speaking in perfect unison.

Gaea nodded and said no more.

Uranus, on the other hand, seemed to see a glimmer of hope. He didn't care who the Father God of the three Fates was; he just wanted to know his own destiny.

So he took the initiative to speak: "Then I shall trouble the goddesses. I will await your results."

Seeing that the Fates had agreed, he finally relaxed. Feeling better, he decided to "train" his children, the weak twelve Titans who made him feel secure.

Gaea did not stop him, because she knew she couldn't, and besides, she also had something to do.

After confirming that God-King Uranus had left, she quietly departed from the divine mountain and arrived at the endless void where Taren resided.

As soon as she approached, she saw the handsome, gentle-looking young man in white robes already standing there, waiting for her.

"Long time no see, benevolent and esteemed Earth Mother," Taren spoke first, his voice neither high nor low, yet carrying a reassuring power.

Gaea could feel that over the past thousand years, Taren's divine power had increased significantly. Although still far from hers, it was a very pleasing rate of growth.

However, this wasn't important, because she was only there to inquire about a prophecy, and she hadn't expected Taren to personally deal with Uranus; that was too far-fetched.

"Esteemed Lord Taren, do you still remember our agreement from a thousand years ago?" Gaea asked, her voice tinged with deep weariness.

Unlike her image as a beautiful maiden full of love a thousand years ago, the Earth Mother Gaea at this moment looked haggard and seemed to have aged considerably.

"Of course I remember, benevolent Earth Mother. Everything you have suffered saddens me," Taren sighed. "How do you wish for me to help you?"

"I've had enough of this painful life; I want to end it all," Gaea said, flames of anger flickering in her eyes, born from the suppressed resentment of the past millennia.

"For so many years, I have endured every day. He tortures my children until they are bruised and battered, he demands endlessly from me, he even personally imprisoned my newborn children, he violated my law of fertility."

"I can no longer tolerate it; he will destroy everything sooner or later! Great prophet, I want to know, in your prophecy from back then, who is the child who can overthrow Uranus?"

Gaea no longer naively hoped that Uranus could coexist peacefully with their children, because that was an impossible feat.

Uranus's nature dictated that weaker children would be tormented by him, and powerful children would be imprisoned by him.

As the twelve Titans grew stronger with time, one day they too would be locked in Tartarus. Uranus would absolutely not spare anyone who made him feel threatened.

Whether or not they were his children.

But Gaea could not stand by and watch this happen, because the benevolent Earth Mother had an unparalleled love for her children, surpassing even her love for herself. This was also the manifestation of the law of fertility.

"Fate will guide you to that child, and what you must do is bring him to me."

Taren's voice remained unhurried, showing no trace of abnormality due to Gaea's distress.

"And you need to know that the God-King cannot be killed; he can only be defeated."

"I know, but…" Gaea's face showed hesitation, and she couldn't help but doubt: "Can he really be defeated?"

No one knew Uranus's power better than Gaea. The God-King's strength had long surpassed that of the primordial gods; that creative power, she feared, even all her children combined could not shake him in the slightest.

"Nothing is eternal, and nothing cannot be defeated," Taren said with a calm smile. "You only need to find that child and bring him to me; that will be enough."

"Then how should I search?" Gaea instinctively pressed.

"To defeat the God-King may not require immensely powerful divine energy, but it certainly requires courage unafraid of danger," Taren said. "Everything is destined; you will find him."

"Courage…" Gaea repeated the two words, finally understanding something. She nodded, but her heart was still filled with worry.

Uranus was simply too powerful, so powerful that it made one despair. No matter how confident Taren appeared, Gaea couldn't believe him.

Because Taren was so weak, so weak that Gaea wondered if it was foolish of her to come to him for advice.

Just as she was agonizing over her doubts, new visitors arrived in the void.

Before the three beautiful and delicate maidens even drew near, their clear, ethereal voices already rang out, filled with heartfelt reverence.

"Father God, we long for the guidance of fate."

Gaea turned in astonishment, only to see the three Fates, who had been sitting proudly in the temple not long ago, now respectfully bowing to Taren.

They called that weak fellow… Father God?!

Gaea was utterly stunned.
