Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The One-Eyed Giant

Uranus did not receive the prophecy he desired. He returned to his divine mountain, having already expelled the twelve Titans, sending them to fulfill their respective divine duties.

At this time, the world was still barren, with hardly any living creatures, and the number of gods was too sparse compared to the entire world. The world was still evolving.

In the blink of an eye, a thousand years passed.

And on that majestic divine mountain, a fierce quarrel erupted once again.

"Uranus, you shouldn't treat them like this, they are your children too!" Gaia pleaded bitterly, while before her knelt three massive giants with a single eye.

This was not their first quarrel. Ever since the birth of these three Cyclopes, Uranus and Gaia frequently clashed. No matter how much Gaia begged, Uranus simply could not accept these three strangely shaped children.

"No, they are all deformed monsters. There's no way I could give birth to such abominable creatures," Uranus said coldly.

Ever since that temple prophecy, Uranus had found fault with his twelve Titan children in every way.

It was a very contradictory mindset. He neither believed the prophecy, nor did he think these useless fellows could overthrow him, yet he felt it was a disgrace to have given birth to them.

Slowly, as Uranus watched these timid creatures beg and grovel, trembling under his divine might, he actually felt a subtle sense of satisfaction. The feeling of having everything in his hands made him feel at ease.

So he tried every means to torment the twelve Titans for amusement, which became a small, if negligible, pleasure in his long divine life.

The twelve Titans were tormented beyond measure, always appealing to the merciful Mother Earth Goddess Gaia, who would then intercede. Uranus, to save face for his Queen, would then relent for a few days.

But it was only for a few days. During these days, Uranus, with no other outlet, would make Heaven and Earth cling tightly together, frantically drawing power from Gaia.

Gaia also felt the pain, but to give her children a moment to breathe, she could only endure it alone.

Perhaps it was because their love had faded, or perhaps because of the rift in their hearts, but under these circumstances, Gaia gave birth to three children who were entirely different from the twelve naturally born Titans: the Cyclopes.

These three children were incredibly ugly from birth and possessed no divine essence, not being recognized as gods by the world. Yet, their divine power was immense, even surpassing that of the twelve Titans when they were first born.

It should be known that the twelve Titans were born with medium divine power, and after so many years of growth, they had already reached powerful divine power.

And these three monsters, born now, already surpassed medium divine power. Although they hadn't yet reached powerful divine power, what if they were given a little more time? What if they were allowed to grow further?

This discovery filled Uranus with both humiliation and a sense of crisis.

He once again thought of the persistent prophecy that he had gradually pushed to the back of his mind over the years, yet still occasionally recalled.

That fellow said his child would wield a blade against him and overthrow his rule, but he didn't say which child.

The twelve Titans were indeed weak enough, but what if it was a later child?

Behind Uranus's deep loathing for these three strangely shaped, ugly, and unintelligent monsters, there was actually a hidden fear.

Every day he tried to get rid of these three monsters, but no matter how Gaia pleaded or begged, he remained unmoved.

Moreover, these three unintelligent creatures knew no fear. Even when Uranus tormented them with his creative power until they were covered in wounds, they merely stared at him with their single eyes, unyielding.

Whenever he saw their unrepentant, fearless gaze, Uranus felt nothing but immense fury, which made him feel that the dignity and authority of the King of Gods had been offended.

"Look at them, Gaia, these monsters have no respect for the King of Gods!" Uranus could no longer suppress his anger. His icy gaze swept over the three monsters, and he spoke cruelly: "I can no longer tolerate them!"

These three Cyclopes had been born over a hundred years ago, and every time Uranus tried to deal with them, Gaia would stop him.

Out of respect for the Queen, Uranus could only tolerate them for a while, but a hundred years of tolerance had completely exhausted his last shred of patience.

So this time, no matter how Gaia begged and pleaded, he had made up his mind to completely get rid of these three monsters.

But how to get rid of them?

The King of Gods was in a difficult position. Gods were immortal. Although these three monsters had no divine duties, they could not be destroyed either.

Finally, he cast his gaze towards the abyss at the edge of the earth.

That was also the dwelling place of Tartarus, one of the primordial gods, the God of the Abyss.

Except for Gaia, who was overly personified, the other primordial gods were almost entirely unpersonified. This ensured their power, but similarly, because they lacked personification, they rarely participated in struggles for divine authority.

The abyss where Tartarus resided always maintained its unpersonified, primordial state.

Uranus, with immense power, seized the three giants, threw them down from the high mountain, and cast them into the bottomless pit of the abyss.

At the same time, the majestic voice of the King of Gods resounded throughout the earth: "In the name of the King of Gods, I declare the Cyclopes guilty of arrogance! They shall be imprisoned forever, until the end of the world!"

Gaia watched all this in disbelief, almost blurting out: "Uranus, what are you doing? Are you mad?!"

Uranus threw the three Cyclopes into the abyss, and since the abyss connected to the earth, it was equivalent to forcibly stuffing the three giants back into her body.

The immense pain distorted the expression of the benevolent Mother Earth. The agonizing wails of the Cyclopes echoed incessantly in her mind. This dual torment of body and spirit almost drove her mad.

But Uranus merely watched all this unfold with cold indifference, an indifference that made her feel utterly chilled.

For the first time in her life, she found Uranus utterly unreasonable. Their former love had become a fleeting memory. At this moment, her heart was filled only with endless resentment.

But Uranus paid no attention to this. Relieved to have dealt with a major threat, a long-lost smile appeared on his face.

This joy gave him an urge to vent. He looked at Gaia, and disregarding her unwillingness and struggles, he forcibly made Heaven and Earth cling together again.

Suddenly, the entire heaven and earth merged, and the world was left in a state of chaos
