As he observed the zombies wandering aimlessly outside, he observed a key detail: the zombies will run at any sound they hear.
But he already guessed that, but this made him think if the zombies were blind or had sight problems, but for now there was nothing to prove it, and he was not going to fight a zombie on a simple assumption.
For now he will just observe them.

It's been a day since Ethan came to this apocalypse.
Ethan spent the previous day observing zombies and learning about this world.
Unlike most isekai or transmigration novels, he didn't get any new set of memories after coming to this world.
So Ethan was trying to find out how different the world was from his, or if it was his own world.
From what Ethan found, Ethan was in a different world that was pretty similar to his previous world.
Almost every major event that happened in his previous world also happened here, from the fall of the Roman Empire to the rise of a certain short Frenchman and the Australian painter. Everything happened on the same date, from what he could see.
How did he know all this, you may ask.
Well, because Ethan is actually a god.JK:)
He found some history books while searching the room he was in.
Currently he was observing the zombies and noticed something: the zombies didn't like sunlight.
The zombies will mostly go to the shade whenever the sunlight hits them.
Ethan had some theories about why they had such behaviour.
The first was that if the virus kills the host and they were just moving corpses, then they avoided sunlight to avoid decomposition.
The second theory was that the sunlight affects their vision.
Both seemed acceptable, but Ethan believed in the second more, as zombies during the night seemed more active and aware of their surroundings than during the day.
They didn't bump into each other or anything during the night.
So Ethan believed in the second theory more, but both could be true.
Ethan didn't have enough proof for now.
For now all he could do was observe and wait; he would have to go outside some time in the future, as his food was not infinite, and he needed all the information on the zombie he could get.
