Both Ethan and Joe step out of his apartment room.
They both had duct tape wrapped in many layers on their hands for bite protection.
Ethan was also wearing many layers of clothes to minimize the risk of the zombie bite reaching into his bloodstream.
He also had a kitchen knife in his hand.
After both Ethan and Joe got out of the room, Lena quietly closed the door behind them.
The hallway didn't have many zombies.
There were only about 5 zombies in the hall.
Quietly going to the apartment to the right, they tried to open the door.
Luckily it was open, and both Ethan and Joe quickly went inside.
With a silent thud, the door closed behind them.
The room was very dark; all the windows were closed, and there was no electricity to turn the lights on.
The darkness made Ethan uncomfortable.
Quickly turning on his flashlight, Joe turned to him and said, "Be as quiet as you can".
Ethan nodded to him and turned his own flashlight on.
Taking the lead, Joe opened the one next to him.
Going inside, Ethan stood in horror.
In the bed, a corpse of what looked like a woman was being eaten by a zombie.
The woman had a look of horror and pain on her face.
The zombie, noticing Ethan's presence, rushed at him.
The zombie lunged at Ethan and tackled him on the ground.
The zombie let out a guttural roar and tried to bite down on Ethan's neck.
On instinct, Ethan put his hand to his face.
The zombie bit the duct tape on Ethan's arm.
Ethan roared in pain and yelled, "Get off me".
The duct tape stopped the zombie from tearing into his flesh, but the pain of the bite was still there.
At this moment, Joe stabbed the zombie in the head.
Black blood poured onto Ethan's face and clothes.
Closing his eyes and mouth to prevent the blood from going into them and in fear, Ethan lay on the ground motionless.
