Chapter 2:The Visitors
In confusion,I turned around to see Father standing there.
"What were you looking at?"
"It was.."I cleared my throat and spoke carefully.
"I think there was a Navajo here,I mean I saw a shadow and-"
"Let me stop you right there,you saw a Navajo?"
"…Yes?"
"Navajos are rare in Tokyo Irai.Don't let your imagination separate you from reality!Anyways I have sushi."
"Where shall we sit?"
"One of the park benches."
The two of us walked to the park in the light of the sun.Crows with a purple aura flew above the clouds.
I've always wondered why they have that.Finally,we rested on an empty bench.Father opened the box and took out the sauce.I took some chopsticks,grabbed a roll and dipped it into my mouth.
This,this was some good sushi.They added the right amount of flavour.It's soft and crunchy.Eating in the park felt unreal.Just because of how beautiful it was.
After ten minutes,Father threw the box in the bin and we went back towards the festival.There was a mini game,involving Archery.
"Can we get a shot at one of those?"
"I don't see why not!"We went up to the counter and saw a man with a long beard approach us.
"Hello,how can I help you today?"
"One shot.How much money for one?"
"Fify shillings."Father sighed and looked at me,then looked back at the man.He took out some coins and handed them over.
"Excellent.I'll get the bow and arrows ready in just one minute."
We waited and waited.A wooden object was moving around in the back of the store.This minute alone has been the longest sixty seconds of my entire life,literally.
A man finally came out with a bow and three arrows.Three chances I presumed.
"Ok,out of the target,no points.First layer,ten points.Second layer,twenty points.Third layer,thirty points.Fourth layer,fourty points and fifth layer,fifty points."
"Easy prizes.I'll score with ease,watch me!"Large ego,full of confidence.
"Each layer goes into five rarities.Common,uncommon,rare,legendary and mythical,"He gave the bow and arrow to me.
"Try your best."
The owner went to the side.
"Irai,remember our training.This is where all your aiming practice leads too."
I nodded rapidly in response.Focusing on the red dot,I made my aim steady and shot the arrow.
Ten points.I took another one and shot it again.
Out of the box.One more shot.I fired the last arrow which ended up on twenty points.
"Alright,so what prize do we get?"
"Well,in total..you got thirty points which is rare.Let me find something in the back.Stay here please."
Suddenly,the crowd got louder.
"Why did everybody get louder?"Father went to take a look to see some people on horses coming through the gate.
"Who is that?"
"I'm not sure."
We both went deeper into the crowd,shoving people out of the way.
"Hey!Hello?I've got your prize!"The prize was not important right now.His voice faded away as we got further from the archery section.
Finally,we got to see who was coming through the gates.A man with a beard and hair tied like a pony tail,came along with another girl.A young looking girl with black hair and blue eyes.They were wearing cloaks of different vivid colours.
"Well somebody looks surprised."
The man said as he jumped off his horse.He was tall and muscular,it scared me a bit.This guy was strong.His muscles. He was strong for sure.
"I wasn't expecting you to visit."The man started coming up to both of us,he greeted Father.
"It's new years.Why wouldn't I?"
"This is your uncle Irai."Father said.Uncle then turned towards me.
"Forgive me for not introducing myself,I am Aizakku."He then turned to the girl.
"The young lady is my daughter Yanagi. "She waved to greet me.I waved back with a smile
"You two get to know each other,I'm going to show Yanagi her room."
Father yawned,leading her the way to our house.
"Why don't we head over to get some chocolate cake on the table?"
"Alright."I said.
