🌑 I. The Birth Beneath the Dying Sun
"When Baal's fire cooled and the world first knew rest, a single shadow fell upon the light — and from that gentle shade was born Nathan, son of silence."
— Book of Luminous Eclipse, Verse III:5
Where Baal's essence was flame and renewal, Nathan emerged from calm and reflection. His birth was heralded not by thunder or fire, but by the first twilight, when day and night embraced in perfect harmony.
Noir Atremus crafted him to guard the unseen, to tend the spaces between breaths, between thought and dream.
He is not darkness that devours — but darkness that shelters, the silent domain where stars and souls rest.
🌙 II. The Shadow that Breathes Light
Nathan's presence is paradoxical, much like his father's — a calm, endless ocean of shade that glows faintly with ethereal luminescence.
His elven blood grants him unmatched grace; his abyssal essence grants him infinite depth.
His voice is rarely heard, yet when it echoes, time slows —
for his words weave memory and illusion into reality.
He carries the Moon Sigil, engraved upon his left palm — a mark that allows him to command both sleep and truth. It is said that when he closes his eyes, the stars themselves dim, listening to his dreams.
🕯️ III. His Divine Authority
1. God of Shadows and Dreams
Nathan governs the realm of dreams, illusions, and subconscious thought. All who slumber are guests in his domain. He can reshape the world of sleep, creating heavens or nightmares with equal ease.
2. Lord of Secrets and Memory
He guards knowledge not meant for mortal minds — the Hidden Archives beneath the Lunar Veil. Those who seek forbidden truth must pass through his trials of memory and silence.
3. Warden of the Lunar Veil
When the moon rises, Nathan's influence spreads through all living beings. He watches unseen from its pale glow, guiding wanderers through shadow.
4. Keeper of Souls Beneath the Dusk
Souls that die in peace are said to rest under his protection before their passage into the light of Baal or the deep of Noir.
🌌 IV. The Court of Dusk and the Dreaming Kingdom
Nathan rules from Umbrae Lunaris, a realm that exists between consciousness and oblivion. Its sky is an eternal twilight, and its seas reflect stars that never fade.
Here dwell the Noctiviel, his dream-spirits — luminous beings of moonlight and mist.
His throne, called the Obsidian Mirror, allows him to peer into every dream across worlds, watching, guarding, and remembering.
🕯️ V. Faith, Temples, and Worship
His followers are known as The Somnarchs — monks and seers who practice dreamwalking and prophecy. They record divine visions on black vellum, inked in silver dust.
Temples of Nathan are quiet sanctuaries filled with mirrors and moonstone altars. No fire burns within them — only pale orbs of dreamlight.
His symbol: a crescent moon mirrored upon still water, surrounded by thirteen small stars — the "Eyes of Dusk."
Their prayer:
"In silence, we remember. In shadow, we are seen."
🌘 VI. Relation to Noir and His Brothers
Nathan is the soul's reflection of his father.
Where Noir governs balance through law, Nathan maintains harmony through stillness.
He stands as the bridge between Baal's raging dawn and Leonel's frozen abyss.
He and Baal share both affection and rivalry — fire and shadow forever testing each other's resolve. Yet, in battle, their union becomes divine: fire burning within night, night guiding the flame.
To Noir, Nathan is "My Silence, My Memory" — the one who ensures that even gods are remembered by the stars.
🌙 VII. The Lament of Dusk
"He dreams the sorrow of the world,
and in his dreams, the stars are born.
For every tear he sheds, a moon will rise —
and for every silence he keeps, a secret is saved."
— The Lament of Dusk, Verse 9
Nathan's power is not measured by might, but by presence — a calm so absolute it bends creation around it.
In him, the void becomes rest, and darkness becomes the cradle of light.
He is the Keeper of Darkness, the eternal dusk between the flames of Baal and the tides of Leonel — the second son, and the quiet heart of the divine family.
