Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: The Daemon Pillars

The day after my confrontation with Blanc and Bleu, I was yet again, resting on my throne, with a languid disposition, as I rested the side of my face on my fist.

I had called for another meeting of my subordinates, it is time to allocate roles, and do some organising, this was something that Blanc actually mentioned, as an idea considering the actions I had taken, she is already proving her worth. I will just take inspiration from a couple of systems from my old life. As more and more people fall to me, and I conquer more and more, I am going to have more subordinates, it is good now to organise it all.

However, there will only be a limited amount of spots, if they fall out of my favour or fail to do their duty assigned to them, I will replace them.

As I was thinking this, the large doors to the throne room groaned open as they were pushed by a pair of Greater Daemons, and in walks my acquisitions so far. The first two at the front Kali and Vert, still both in their maid attires as they led the way. While falling in a step behind them was Blanc and Bleu, with Blanc exuding an ethereal and noble-like elegance as she is now seemingly wearing some sort of gown that looks like it would be a part of a queens wardrobe. Next, Bleu, she was wearing casual attire that seemed to convey her internally carefree nature as she walked with her typical calmness.

They all lined up before kneeling reverently to me "We greet master!" They all said in unison. I, while looking out the large arch-like windows, spoke steadily "I have simply ordered for this meeting for a couple of reasons." I started with a nonchalant attitude, as if everything was playing out how I wanted it to. "Firstly, to bring you all together after recent events. Make sure you all get used to each other and form some sort of connection, for the sake of better cohesion among the group, even if some of you do not like the others" I then turned my gaze from the window to look sternly at Kali as I said this, she was staring daggers at the two new additions, but shuddered under my intense stare. "Secondly, there will be some additions in the future, short term and long term, so saying this, I will be creating an organisational structure for this reason." As I said this it seemed as if all their ears perked up at the same time, well except Blanc, she had an idea of the reason for this meeting.

"I will only say this once before I begin my explanation, ensure any newcomers in the future get the memo, if you fail me in anyway..." The very mountain this castle was situated on seemed to shake from my Daemon Haki's pressure "You will be removed from this organisation, in more ways than one." I said venomously, and as those words fell the room seemed to fall into a suffocating silence "This is an illustrious project, one you should all feel grateful to be a part of. Do not disappoint me going forward." They all quickly and seemingly instinctively shouted "Yes, master!"

I nodded in affirmation before sitting up straight and outlining my vision "From this day forward you will be known as The Four Daemon Pillars, this number will change as more are added... or removed. Vert you will be made leader of this group, for your recent exploits in setting up the information network and your expertise you have gained in managing it. The rest of you, know this, the position of leader is not for life, show me your merit through your actions and who knows, maybe the position will be filled by one of you?" Their eyes sharpened, well, expect for Bleu, it seems she is not all that motivated. "Once Blanc and Bleu finish with their first task of integrating their territories into mine, you will all have the personal freedom to follow whatever path you want. As long as it benefits me... you can have personal autonomy. However, the more you achieve, the more benefits you will receive, especially once I head to the central world, trust me, there will be plenty of benefits that I can bestow upon you, if you serve me well that is." After that long speech which I always hate doing, so draining, the others straightened and said in a serious manner "We will not let you down, master!"

Before I could move on, I saw Kali speaking in a low sarcastic manner to Vert next to her, "I will knock you off that perch, 'ma'am'~" Vert glared sideways as she hit back "You are really doing this here of all places? You are really too far gone." She then proceeded to shake her head in a belittling and condescending way. After seeing this exchange, Bleu nudged Blanc next to her and said lazily "What's up with those two?" Blanc seemed to look over at them before quickly turning back and saying with some obvious distain "They are acting foolishly in front of master, that is what they are doing. It seems this leadership position will be mine easier and more quickly than I thought it would." She said with a slight cunning smile on her otherwise gentle face. This made Bleu shift away from her slightly, not wanting to get caught up in whatever machinations she was brewing up.

I looked over them silently as I took in their bickering, outsiders looking in, may think I would be angry? No way, this is what I want, them being able to work together, yes, but also to conspire and compete against each other, for whatever motivations they may have. With Kali it could be my attention, and with Blanc it may be the benefits I mentioned earlier. However, this competitive environment will only empower me further.

Nevertheless, it was time to nip it in the bud, I cannot have them thinking they can act like unruly children in front of me.

"Quiet down."

I said in my natural tone, no shouting, just two words. They all instantly turned to look at me with a hint of worry on their faces. "Lets continue with this meeting shall we? We have a lot to discuss, and many more plans and plots to put into motion."
