The atmosphere of the room was suddenly plunged into gloom at the despicable sight of Davien that stood in the center of the living room.
"What the hell!" Khloe exclaimed, jumping on her feet.
In fact, every member of the family was on their feet except Anna, who was turned in the stomach just at the sight of him.
"Have you lost your mind?" That was Khloe again. "No, that wasn't a question. Seeing that you dared to come back here, you must surely have lost your mind!!!"
All eyes were fixed on him as they waited for him to say something.
"Ignore me. I'm here to pick something that belongs to me." Davien said boldy, making a move forward.
His guts seemed to pissed them all off.
"Where do you think you are going to?" Vincent suddenly stepped into his way. As the man of the house, he should be territorial, right.
"Your ear must be bleeding when I said I came here to pick something." Davien glared at him. "Now, move out of the way."
Khloe quickly rushed forward.
"Oh, now I get it!" Her voice was thin and annoyingly loud. "You thought no one would be at home right? So you came back to pick the necklace from where you hid it? What? Did you find a buyer already?"
Several years ago after he was saved by Sir Benjamin, the old man had given him a token. A necklace with a jade pendant. Now that the old man was about to die, this necklace was the only thing that would remind him of the old man's kindness towards him.
Davien couldn't tell this evil family about the token. In fact, he refuses to tell them.
Seeing that he was silent and couldn't reply, Khloe was further convinced that Davien was truly up to no good.
"You see? He can't even defend himself. This retard really has some guts!!!" Khloe was ready to hit him if she gets the chance.
"I don't think that is it." Anna stood up at last, walking closer.
"Our Davien here is too clever to come back in the day to retrieve your necklace. Instead, he would have come at night." She scoffed.
"What do you think he is here for, then?" Khloe demanded.
All gazes were on Anna.
"It's simple." Anna replied. "It's either one of two things." She continued.
The curiosity got deeper. Even Davien was attentive.
"One. Now that he is homeless and doesn't have anywhere to go, he came back to collect the money of the cleaning he did...." She scoffed. "Or..."
"He came to beg me to take him back." She added. "In his dreams, of course."
Suddenly a loud laugh burst forth. Everyone watched with stunned look as Davien laughed so hard that his stomach almost ached.
"Has he gone mad?" Khloe muttered, not sure of what to make of this.
"You must be way in over your head, Anna." Davien scoffed at Anna. "Not even if I'm paid will I ever take a wench like you back!"
Hearing the retort of Davien, black rage washed all over Anna's face.
"You better watch your mouth, bastard!!!" Vincent stepped forward, rolling his sleeves to beat Davien up.
"Don't hit him, Vincent." Anna called. "Let's indulge him."
"What did you say you are here for?" Anna asked, glaring at Davien.
"It's a token of kindness." Davien scoffed. "A word none of you can relate with."
"Let me break his face!" Vincent has had enough of Davien's guts.
Yet Anna didn't allow him or any other member of the family to touch him.
"Take us there." Anna said to Davien. "Take us to the token."
She had made up her mind. If truly Davien was here to make trouble, then she was ready to let all hell loose!
Davien didn't say anymore word. Instead, he led the way and they followed from behind. When he got the last room by the toilet, he fetched for the necklace and clasped it in his hand.
"It's a necklace!!!" Khloe's sharp eyes quickly caught it. "It's my necklace!!!"
Anna saw how Davien was hiding the token.
"Show us the token, Davien. Why? Are you scared that you would be revealed as the thief you are?" Anna accused.
Being called a thief was the height of it. Davien revealed the necklace, putting it up for everyone of them to see.
"Does this look like yours?!" Davien demanded with no sense of being cajoled.
"How can we tell if it's mine or not?" Khloe was relentless. "I can't even see if from this far. If you are confident, bring it closer and let me inspect it, you fucking klepto!!!"
Davien was truly getting sick of the antics of this family, especially that of Khloe's. Still, he knew that they wouldn't let him go except he showed them.
He moved closer and held his hand out, bringing the weight of the pretty necklace and its brilliant jade pendant towards their haunting faces.
"Give it here!!!" Khloe suddenly snatched the necklace from him.
"Hand it back!!!" Davien was about to lose the iota of cool left in him.
"Or what?" She yelled back at him. "What is a pauper like you going to do!!"
Every member of the family looked closely at the necklace. They could tell instantly that this necklace doesn't belong to Khloe.
Yet the necklace looked quite expensive for someone like Davien to be in possession of it. So it was easy to come to the easiest conclusion.
"Even though this is not my necklace, that doesn't mean that you didn't steal it." Khloe would not give up.
"If you know what is good for you, start confessing from whom you stole this!!! Was it from one of our guests that came long time ago?" Khloe accused, still holding on to the necklace.
"Khloe, give me back the necklace!" Davien didn't care about her accusation, he just wanted it back.
"If you didn't steal this, Davien." Lydia said. "Tell us who gave it to you and we will let it go. Else, you are not having it."
Of course Davien was not going to tell them that Sir Benjamin gave it to him. If they knew, it would only make things difficult.
"Give it back!!!" Davien roared at Khloe.
"No!" She screamed back.
"I said, hand it here." He quickly moved forward to grab it.
Point in time, Khloe intentionally smashed the necklace on the floor, breaking the jade pendant. Seeing this, Davien lost it all.
"You fucking bitch!!!" Davien moved towards her and slapped her with all the rage pent up in him.
The slap was so hard and sudden that Khloe spun around and landed on the glass table, shattering it under her weight. Her shriek was deafening.
Seeing this, the entire family went ballistic. Lydia grabbed Davien by the neck, Anna attending to Khloe, while Vincent called the cops.
In a space of ten minutes, ruthless police officers tore into the villa and dragged Davien away, beating him into a stupor.
