Buildings shatter, walls crumble, properties explode from the shockwave of the impact.
The club and the axe meets, a loud ring explodes throughout the city as the gorilla and minotaur roars.
The gorilla, with questionable flexibility backflips to the street, lands on the ground as it looks up at the towering minotaur.
Meanwhile, the foot soldiers fought.
[Rock Bulls] meet against [Furious Apes], clashing against one another. The bulls uses their body and horns to stab and crush the apes, but the apes too manage to smash their fists against their armor, even the tail was powerful enough to do so too.
It was an all out war between the Usurpers and their army.
The dense mana fills the atmosphere from the fight of the gorilla and the minotaur, the both of them even.
Thea leads the path with Luna on the middle, masking their presence with her Rune.
Adam runs his Rune at a hundred percent uptime, making sure not to let any of those Calamities notice them as he makes sure that none see or ambush them.
They have to get away, fast.
"Adam! You know the way to the border of the city or somewhere out of here?!"
Thea asks, looking back as Adam shakes his head.
"No! Just run forward! We'll be taking a small detour from my planned path but I think it should be fine!"
Adam shouts, followed with a roar from the battlefield.
Whistles of wind screech, cutting through air as it slammed against the hardened rocks. They could hear the sound of buildings crashing and torn down.
Thinking that they could get away from the powerful Calamities, their heart settles for a bit...
But.
"!!!"
Sounds of flaps and screeches could be heard from the side.
Adam takes a short breath, in his mind map, he feels powerful energies coming towards their direction.
"Damnit! Hide!"
Adam shouts, scrambling towards the nearest building to hide.
Everyone hides themselves from the sunlight, crouching on the shadows inside the building.
The sound of flappings could be heard more clearly, and everyone could feel the mana signature coming from the being.
'Another Usurper!'
That single thought forms inside everyone's head, while Sirius groans as suddenly something clicked inside his head.
'Why didn't I notice?!'
He shouts inside his head.
While it would've been too far-fetched, he should've thought about it.
Having a year and so experience of being in a war made him to always think of the worst-case scenario.
After all, it is very important to have plan B and even plan C.
From the moment when he saw those two Usurpers, each one a leader of the Fallens, their armies.
When the bats emerged from behind the gorilla faction, there were no signs of any Usurper.
Also, it was obvious from a glance that the bats were working together with the gorilla faction somehow.
Sirius should've thought of the possibility that there's a Usurper.
This was the perfect setup for a pincer attack, some of the bats fight with the gorilla faction, while the Usurper and some of its army flank around and attack from behind.
Otherwise, there should have been no reason for the Usurper to not be there with the gorilla.
Sure the gorilla could turn out have instead killed the Usurper of the bats, but that is not the worst-case scenario.
This, is the worst-case scenario.
A magnificent white bat the size of between a small airplane and a normal airplane flies through the street, but not before stopping and gazing at a building.
The [Light Bats] stop on their tracks, screeching, confused at their leader's weird inaction.
The flappings continued, everyone hold their breath in, trying their best to keep their hearts steady.
Luna keeps her Rune, [Polarity] activated.
Specifically, her [Relativity], which allows her to either attract or repel something.
She attracts everyone's presence as close to their body, not letting any sort of presence leave their bodies...
But.
It depends on her Class.
Now?
Everyone's eyes widened, feeling the acumulating energy, the mana ramping up in the air.
"Run!"
A screech erupts from the Usurper's wide open mouth, it stretched uncomfortably wide. The screech is followed by a blast of white beam as it burns through the walls of the building.
Everyone dispersed, running out of the building as they all summon their weapons.
Sirius dashes to the [Light Bats], while Thea crackles with lightning before strengthening her body with mana as the mana veins thump to life.
Sirius watch as the bats come straight to him, flying like a pitch ball as he slashes up, followed by a downward slash into a thrust.
Simultaneously, as he bulldoze through the bats, his hand shoots toward the bats as his sword cleaved through them.
Each time it does, Sirius grabs onto the black Soul and yanks them before purifying the Soul and absorbing it.
He has to get used to this, otherwise how could he improve? Every fight he stumbled upon had always been a non-stop fight where he couldn't collect the Souls, and truth be told, he's annoyed.
Throwing that thought away, he gaze through the battlefield and summons sharp needles that shoots at the bats with a simple thought.
The bats, agile and sensitive to mana dodges the small needles easily, as they follow up with light beams that shoots towards him, his reflexes firing as he dodge them.
Sirius clicks his tongue, scolding himself in his head.
Meanwhile, Chad and the others follow suit, taking on their share of [Light Bats], while Thea...
A burst of lightning erupts, Thea instantly appears right in front of the Usurper bat.
[Calamity]: [Lightbringer]
Thea slams her shin against the neck of the bat, her movements fast.
But, the bat was as fast she was as it managed to block the kick as it brings up its wings to soften the blow.
A loud crash booms, as Thea sent the bat flying through a building.
Thea lands back onto the ground, her legs tightening, coiling, as she instantly burst towards the [Lightbringer].
The [Lightbringer] screech in anger, before flapping its wing with a powerful force as a wave of heat blast towards Thea.
Thea dodges to the side, exploding mana through her tank as she reappears aside the bat and thrusting her sword at the neck of the bat.
Unfortunately, the bat instantly forms a transparent light barrier that blocks the blow.
Her sword sizzles, she could feel the heat coming from the barrier as she quickly takes a step back.
The bat lets out a screech, spreading its wings wide as gusts of wind slam against Thea, breezing her hair back.
"Damn it...! I need to buy time!"
Thea says to herself... only for her to hear footsteps as she whips her head back.
Luna had followed behind Thea, her rapier tight on her hand as she rushes in with Anna following along too.
"You two?!-"
"Focus ladyboss!"
Anna shouts, as her eyes gleam red.

"Chad! Keep Sol and Adam safe! Yuki, with me!"
Sirius barks, taking his red sword out of a bat as he grabs the blackened Soul out of a dead bat.
Chad nods before going back and forming an igloo of rock with Sol and Adam inside as Chad raise his shield and spear on top of it, not letting any bats past him.
Sirius quickly forms a couple of chains that lock the bats at place.
Not only are they fast, they could shoot out those annoying light beams. Which, even though wasn't as powerful as the [Lightbringer]'s, it burns.
Yuki whips his hand up, freezing a couple of [Light Bats] with his ice as Sirius follows up with blue chains that latches onto the ice.
Sirius flex his palm and watch as the chains rumble before tightening against the ice, destroying the bats.
A rumble of lightning echoes through the battlefield amidst the sound of the battlefield far from the party.
Sirius glance to the side and sees Thea and [Lightbringer] engaging in a fight.
But...
The sound of air being cut through could be heard, a screeching whistle that rings everyone's ears.
Thea had dodged an upfront light beam, but not before getting punched on the stomach by the [Lightbringer] as she crashed through a building.
"Thea...!"
