The buzz of students filled the air. Forks scraped trays, laughter bubbled across tables, and in the far corner, Lu Jingyan sat with her signature poise alone, yet commanding the space like royalty.
Then came Cheng Ciao and Li Man, their heels clicking louder than necessary, heads held high, though their eyes flickered with hesitation. They'd been humiliated yesterday. The entire school watched it happen.
But today, they wanted control back.
"Lu Jingyan," Li Man said, voice sharp as she slammed her tray on the table. "We need to talk."
Without looking up from her tea, Jingyan stirred slowly. "You're talking already."
The nearby tables fell quiet, watching.
Cheng Ciao crossed her arms. "You embarrassed us on purpose. Over what? Some pathetic girl who didn't belong in this school?"
"She belongs more than bullies who fake class with fake kindness," Lu Jingyan replied, finally meeting their eyes.
Li Man sneered. "You think you're better than everyone?"
"I don't think," she said, voice smooth. "I just don't need to tear people down to prove I'm above them."
The room stilled.
"You think people fear you?" Cheng Ciao hissed. "It's only because of your father's name."
Lu Jingyan leaned forward slightly, eyes cold. "Then be grateful he's not here. Because if he was, you wouldn't be sitting."
Gasps whispered around the room.
Cheng Ciao faltered, her voice cracking, "You'll regret this."
Lu Jingyan stood, calm and elegant. "I don't waste energy on things beneath me. And you've already proven you are."
She turned and walked away, leaving silence—and two trembling girls—behind.
And just like that, the queen reminded everyone why no one touched Lu Jingyan. Not even with words.
Leng Yumo opened her mouth wide as she heard what her sister in law just said she can't believe her sister in law was someone like this who is calm and resolute. Who won't say much but would make you pay for what you did. She secretly thumbs up her sister in law in her mind

"Sister in law. Aren't you in your sophomore year?" Leng Yumo asked
"Yes I am. I dropped out of college when dads incident happened. When the exams are just round the corner so the school made an exemption for me that anytime I am ready I should come take my final year exams" Lu Jingyan said
"So when are you planning on taking it?" Leng Yumo asked
"Once I am ready" Lu Jingyan replied although she knew what Leng Yumo was trying to say but she can't deny the fact the rich can not be trusted and she still need to make sure her footing are still strong so once the rich waver she won't fall
