Chapter 15: The Curse's Heart

Jake, Elias, and Raina crept silently behind Barbossa's crew, shadows slipping between the twisted trees as the group disappeared deeper into the island's dark core.

At last, they came upon a cavern so vast it swallowed the torchlight whole. Inside, the ground was buried beneath mountains of gold and silver—chests overflowing with jewels, goblets studded with gems, piles of coins glittering like fallen stars. Treasures of every kind, piled high and gleaming coldly under the flickering flames.

Barbossa stepped forward, eyes cold and empty, not with greed, but with a weary acceptance.

Holding Elizabeth's hand, he spoke quietly, voice rough and bitter.

"I never knew it was a curse. I took everything… I lived like a king, drank like one too. But the price…"

He turned, staring at Will, who stood silently, hands clenched at his side—the last hope to break the curse.

Barbossa nodded to one of his crew, who lugged a heavy chest forward. With slow, deliberate hands, Barbossa placed it atop the mountain of gold.

"All our stolen treasure… finally gathered."

Then, with a grim expression, he took Will's hand and, without hesitation, drew a blade.

A drop of blood fell onto the gleaming gold.

They waited.

Nothing.

Barbossa's face twisted with frustration. He raised his pistol and fired at a nearby pirate.

The bullet struck true—but the pirate didn't fall. His hollow eyes stared unblinking. The curse held.

A chilling silence swept the cavern.

Suddenly—a sharp, cold whisper like a shadow slicing through the air.

Before anyone could react, a black blade flashed.

It cut through the air, severing Barbossa's head clean from his body.

The pirates froze.

Behind Will, Elias stepped forward, a sly smirk curling his lips.

"Hello, old friend."
