After Carrie left, they went along their initial plan to go for shopping.
Levi sent Clover to get some tools that he would use to check the car to make sure it ran smoothly.
"I thought you did that already." Becca said, walking to where Levi was.
"Did what?" He asked slightly puzzled by what Becca was talking about.
"Earlier Clover said you told her to get some stuffs to get the car ready or something like that." Levi thought hard... If Clover had lied about getting some things for the car, which he didn't tell her to, that meant the sound he heard from outside wasn't by chance.
"It was something else. Not the tools." He found himself covering up for her.
"Ohh..." Clover appeared in front of them with the tools Levi had sent her to bring.
"That's all. You can set it down there." He pointed at the place he wanted her to drop it.
"Anything else?" Clover asked.
"Nah, that'll be all for now."
Clover went to the passenger seat and sat down waiting for him, while the twins were at the back seat.
After he was done, he dusted his hands and came to the driver seat.
The drive to the store was fun, it was like a 20 minutes drive away from home because their home was in a secluded area, a bit close to a lake.
When they reached their destination, he found a good spot to park and then they came out and headed for the store.
Becca and Clover went to the girl's section, while Levi and Reggie went to the boy's.
When they were done picking what they wanted, Levi paid at the counter. After that they left and went to another store for grocery shopping.
.
.
In the evening...
After the long day, their last stop before they came back home was at a local restaurant that sold nice and cheap Chinese food.
"Today was fun." Reggie said, as they came back home.
"I'm glad you guys had fun." Levi said, simply. He just shut the front door behind him and locked it, since he was the last person to come in.
"I can't thank you enough, Levi." Clover said with a look he couldn't decipher. He just patted her head and said.
"It's fine. I'm happy you're happy."
"She's not a dog you know." Becca said, referring to the way he patted Clover's head.
Clover just smiled and then took some of the things they bought to put them in place.
"Reggie!! Get up you lazy couch potato and take off your shoes!!" Becca shouted at Reggie.
Levi just smiled and left to his room.
"I don't remember the last time you mopped the floor." Becca said.
"I did too."
"When?" Becca rolled her eyes.
"Get your ass off the couch, Reggie and take off your shoes." Clover said as she came into the living room.
"Those bags won't empty themselves. Hurry up and arrange this place or you'll be having leftovers from the fridge for dinner." Clover said sternly, then grabbed the bags that had her clothes and went to the room.
Becca stuck out her tongue at Reggie in an annoying manner which pissed him off, before he could retaliate she had zoomed off with her bags, laughing sheepishly at him.
.
.
After dinner that night, Levi decided to stroll to one of the lakes while Becca and Reggie went to their usual position in the living room, which was in front of the TV.
Clover stayed with the twins for a while but her mind kept on going back to Levi.
She got up from the couch, wanting to go and meet Levi.
"Are you going to sleep?" Becca asked.
"No. I'm going to meet Levi."
"Alright. It'll be easier to use the back door if you're going to the lake."
"Thanks." Clover thanked and then left immediately.
"Reggie!" Becca called him.
"Yeah?" He answered but his eyes didn't leave the screen.
"I have this weird feeling Clover likes Levi."
"I don't think anyone in her position would not be in love with him. They look good together anyways..." Reggie answered casually.
"Levi doesn't look like someone that would make a move."
"Because she's fifteen and with everything she's been through, he wouldn't want it to seem like he's taking advantage of her." Reggie said in a matter-of-fact kinda way.
"True though." What followed after was silence, as they had gone back to watching TV.
Levi sat a few metres away from the lake, enjoying the cold breeze. The evening air was colder than before, signalling that winter would be coming soon.
He heard footsteps but didn't turn to look because he knew it was Clover.
She quietly sat beside him and didn't say a word.
"You didn't bring a jacket." He finally turned to look at her. "It's cold out here." His voice was filled with concern.
"Ohh.. I'll go get a jacket or something." She was about to stand up but he held her arm to stop her from moving.
"You can have mine." He took off his jacket and used it to cover her, a long awkward silence followed after he did that.
"Can you swim?" He asked, breaking the awkward silence.
"No."
"Why?" He was surprised.
"I don't know." She awkwardly scratched her head.
"Hmm..." Was his only reply.
"I'll learn in time."
"Can you ride a bike?" She buried her face in hands.
"No." She replied, slightly embarrassed.
He didn't say anything anymore, he just gave her a look that showed empathy.
"What's your full name?" He asked.
"Clover Lana Eduardo. It's my mom's name, her father is Mexicano."
"Eduardo?? Do you have a connection with that popular Mexican restaurant that's owned by the Eduardo family?"
"Yeah."
"So, you're from a super rich Mexican family?"
"I would be... If they knew of my existence. It has a lot to do with my mom, they didn't want her because she had me and she didn't want me. I'm really not interested in knowing them."
"Sorry"
"There's no need to apologize. It has nothing to do with you."
"Anyways... I need your credentials. Like your birth certificate and stuffs like that."
"What for?"
"I want to enroll you in the Rock Ridge High School and apparently I need those. Are you with them?"
"Yep."
"I appreciate you doing this for me."
"It's alright. We should go back inside."
