"Becca! Reggie!" Clover called then as soon as she spotted them in the halls. They seemed to rushing off somewhere else even though school was over.
"Clover!" They stopped abruptly and rushed to meet Clover.
"Is this how you guys middle school is?" Kelly asked to no one in particular. She was referring to the commotion and how everyone was in a frenzy in the hallways.
"If this was the end of the semester, I would have thought it's the excitement of going home for summer but this is the first day of school." Kelly stood there perplexed by the commotion.
"What's going on?" Clover asked.
"Something happened between some students. It has to do with bullying and stuffs like that." Reggie said.
"So, the principal called for an emergency assembly to address the case I guess." Becca said.
"It looks pretty serious." Kelly said.
"So, we are heading there now." Becca added.
"Will you wait for us?" Reggie asked.
"Yea." Clover answered.
"She'll be waiting in the school's car park, look for a red car." Kelly said.
"Okay." The twins replied in unison and then ran off.
"First day of school and there's already a case of bullying." Clover said. They were heading to the school's car park where Kelly's car was.
"And it's middle school. " Kelly shook her head in disappointment.
"Anyways... At least we get to finish our conversation." She said excitedly.
"I'll drop you guys home when they're done. I'm sure the afternoon bus has passed already, so you guys will have to wait for the evening bus." Kelly said.
"Thanks a lot. How about your parents? Won't they be worried?"
" They're not even in the country, they're always busy so I barely see them, but I always chat with my mom. I'll tell her I'm with you and then inform the butler I'll be coming home late." She even has a butler, Clover said in her mind.
That meant she was one of those rich kids, but she didn't look or act like it, like some wannabe popular girl.
The moment they got to the car, Kelly pulled out her phone.
"I want to take a picture and send to my mom. Say cheese." Kelly stared at the picture she just took with a smile plastered on her face.
"You look so pretty. Under the sun, your hair turns to a lighter shade of brown which matches your light brown eyes." Clover found herself blushing at her compliment.
"Thanks."
"Look at you turning all red." Kelly said then pinched her check playfully. "Imagine if it was a boy." Just the thought of Levi complimenting her made her more flushed.
To think about it, Levi had never given her a direct compliment.
Did it mean she wasn't beautiful in his eyes or he didn't think that she was beautiful? Did he not like her enough to tell her she is beautiful?
"Let's go in." She didn't realized Kelly had unlocked the car doors. Kelly sat down at the driver's seat while Clover sat in the passenger seat.
Clover thought she would roll down the windows because it was hot but instead she started the car and turned on the AC.
Total rich kid vibes.
"Finally." Kelly said, enjoying the feeling of the cool AC blowing on her skin.
"So, what we talking about again?" Kelly asked, breaking the silence.
"What happened before you left?" Kelly asked.
"Let's just start from the beginning. It'll be easier to understand."
Clover talked about how her mom left her with dad and how he abused her, then the stuff with Ms Penny and everything that had happened.
.
.
"No! No! It can't be." Clover sat on the floor of her bathroom crying profusely. In her hand she held a pregnancy test, which showed two red lines meaning she was pregnant.
She was disgusted, at that moment she felt like peeling her skin off or better still, ending her life.
But she had a strong resolve. She wanted to make sure he paid dearly for everything he did to her. She wanted him to suffer like she did.
After crying her eyes out, she calmly walked out of the bathroom with the pregnancy test in her hand.
Her dad wasn't around, so she left it as a gift to him in his room.
"Clover!" He called out the moment he came back. It seems like he had seen the little present she kept for him.
Even when he continuously called out to her; she ignored him.
After a while he barged into her room, which startled her a bit.
"What's this?" He asked the moment he saw her.
"What does it look like it is?" The fear in her eyes had gone.
"You're playing smart with me, girl?" He closed the distance between them and held her throat.
This time she didn't bury her face like she normally did.
"The fruit of your labor has finally paid off." She struggled to say as he held her throat.
"Daddy..." A sadistic smile appeared on her face. "Congrats. I'm with your child." The sad laughter that erupted from her scared him the more.
He threw her aside and then walked out of the room burning with rage.
A few minutes after he talked to someone on the phone, he came back to her room.
"You dirty slut." Surprisingly, she didn't feel bad instead she gave him a nice smirk .
"You got yourself pregnant on purpose, so that you can use it against me, your plan won't work." Her smirk turned into a smile. A sad and filled with pain smile.
"From daddy's little girl to dirty slut. You didn't think so when you were fucking me."
"Park your things." This time he was filled with fear. That pregnancy would ruin him, it would be clear evidence of what he has been doing.
"Sending me away?" She got up from her bed.
"I thought I was your sweet little girl." She walked closer to him and then embraced him. He didn't push her away or step back.
"I thought you loved me. Now you're pushing me away." She hid a small knife in her sleeves.
She took it out stealthily and stabbed him in his back and then on his leg.
He screamed in pain and then launched himself towards her, before he could grab her with his hand she stabbed him in his palm then ran off to a corner of her room.
He looked at the knife that had gone through his palm in horror, while Clover had a surprising calm face.
"Don't worry I don't plan on killing you. Not now anyways." She grabbed her bag filled with her belongings and started walking out of the room.
"You want me to leave, don't worry. I was way ahead of you."
"It's a promise, that I'll come back and my face will be the last thing you see when you take your last breath. Don't worry, God will keep you alive for me till then." After saying that she walked out of the room, leaving the house completely.
"Clover!!" His cries echoed loud enough for her to hear them outside.
But she didn't turn back, she didn't know where she would go or end up but anywhere was better than here.
