When Lucas concentrated on the closest crack in the air that was just above the street a couple of blocks in front of his place, information just showed up in front of him.

'Goblins, typical beginner monsters in games and the fantasy novels that I have read. I guess that's a good thing. And if I want to level up, I'll have to kill them. Can I do it?'
Lucas saw this as an opportunity to change his life for the better and no longer live like a weak insect in this world. So he decided to give it his all to become powerful, doing whatever it takes.
The first thing he did was open up his system to check his stats.

'Based on the stats and what I know about myself, I am guessing the average stat of an adult male is probably around 10. Makes sense, since I haven't really moved much since my brother's disappearance.'
'I should distribute the attribute points.'
'From what I know, goblins are small and weak like a human child, but they carry weapons and move in groups.'
'My biggest weakness is my stamina and since I will be facing alot of them, I should definitely invest in stamina. Agility and strength are also important for fighting, so I will put 3 points into stamina and 1 each into strength and agility.'

'Now that I have no points left, the plus sign is no longer next to the stats.'
'I'm not 100% sure about the senses stat, but I think it's pretty self explanatory and it looks like I am above average in that, unlike my physical stats, wich suck.'
'Intelligence has probably to do with magic, but I don't think I need that at the moment. My physical stats are the most important right now at the beginning, to survive and kill monsters.'
'There are still more than 20 minutes left, so I will just wait and observe when the goblins appear to assess their strength and numbers. After that, I will decide how to fight them.'

Over 20 minutes later, the red gates finally opened and slowly small green figures walked out of them.
After about 10 goblins were out of the gate, they just stood there, observing everything around them. They tilted their heads and smelled the air with their big noses. Suddenly they all looked in different directions with a disgusting smile and started running like they could smell their prey.
The streets were relatively empty, but there were still some people outside. And when they saw the goblins running towards them, they started screaming and running for their lives.
Lucas was on his balcony like before, observing the situation and decided to use Odin's Eye (SSS).

'Damn, those senses are scary, but except for agility, wich is still below the average adult, the rest of their stats are really like that of a child.'
After a few minutes of watching everything and seeing that more than 50 goblins have exited the gate and more kept coming, Lucas realized that they all had the exact same stats, except for a few level 2 goblins wich had a 1 point increase in all stats except intelligence.
From his balcony he could see that a few people were already killed from the ones that were in his sight.
And of those still alive that decided to fight back against the few goblins that were attacking them close to his building, there were 3 men and 1 woman, each had a weapon in hand from the system and were facing 2-3 goblins each, barely hanging on.
Lucas looked at their stats and confirmed that the average physical stat was really 10. He also noticed that when one of them managed to kill a goblin with his sword, he received 10 experience points and leveled up.
'I think I have all the information I need, so it's time to go out and hunt some goblins.'
Lucas summoned his Mace and left his apartment.

Lucas stepped out of the building and saw 2 goblins a few meters in front of him, staring right at him.
'Shit, I was hoping to sneak out and ambush my first targets, but they just had to be right here!'
Lucas firmly gripped his mace in front of him. Before he knew it, one of them charged right at him with a dagger that all the goblins possessed.
When it came into the 1 meter range, Lucas swung his mace down hard and crushed the goblin's skull.
He was surprised by how easy it was, but when he looked in front, he couldn't see the second goblin. And just when he realized it, a dagger came charging right at him from his right side.
Lucas ducked just when the dagger was about to stab the side of his head and luckily dodged it.
He then turned around, swinging his mace right at the goblins jaw and dropped him. The goblin was bleeding on the floor but not dead yet, so Lucas swung his mace down hard with all his might and crushed his skull like a watermelon.
'Fuck, that was way too close. If it hadn't jumped and aimed at my head instead of my neck or body, I would've been done for!'
'I need to be more careful.'
And just then, a system notification showed up.
