Elena's POV
I tossed my phone onto my desk the moment I entered the office. It skidded across the polished surface and nearly fell off the other side. Allen's eyebrows shot up.
"So," he said slowly, "are you mad at me instead of being grateful to me?"
"And do you think being mad at you is enough for what you did there?" I blurted out angrily, giving him a death stare.
"Why did you have to lie about a meeting just to get me out of there?"
Allen lifted his hands in surrender. "Okay, first of all, even though you do not appreciate what I just did for you, you are welcome. Second of all, if I did not drag you out of that place, you would have announced to the whole company that you found your soulmate."
I stiffened. "What are you talking about?"
"You know exactly what I am talking about." He moved around my desk and dropped lazily into the chair opposite mine. "Your eyes were doing that thing again."
"What thing?"
