The next slide appeared on the screen, bathing the room in a cool white glow. I did not speak immediately. I let the tension settle and let their curiosity stretch just enough to command full attention.
A few chairs creaked as managers leaned forward. Someone clicked their pen. I could feel the curiosity and tension rising in the room and that was exactly what I wanted.
I cleared my throat softly.
"Hmm."
Then I faced the screen.
"What we are going to discuss first is this."
The heading filled the entire wall.
