Elena's POV
The elevator doors slid open, and the moment my heels touched the executive floor, the entire hallway shifted.
Silence rippled out like a shockwave.
Heads turned.
Conversations halted mid sentence.
Even the rhythmic clacking of keyboards froze as if someone had pressed pause on the entire floor.
For one full second, no one breathed. Only eyes fixed on me.
Then, like a spell breaking, everything snapped back into motion. Keyboards were suddenly being hammered with suspicious enthusiasm, chairs rolled, papers shuffled, and every single person pretended to be extremely and aggressively busy.
"What is going on. Is Solaria on some kind of pause and play spell." I whispered to Allen.
Allen leaned closer behind me, his voice low. "What did you expect. You have not stepped foot on this floor since you have been here for two years. Of course they are panicking. It is like sighting a rare dangerous mythical creature."
