Chapter 15 - Red Dragon

A week had passed, nothing major had happened, and no one pursued me any longer. Everyone had stopped likely because the news of what happened with that silver-haired man had spread.

Verina had also left, making the house much safer because at least now I don't worry about an internal threat, as for the outsiders, the Nightmare beast had already expanded his domain in the surrounding area. Though this protection comes at a cost of giving more control to this beast. Unfortunately, there was no other way because it would continue to struggle for control.

I was standing in front of the mirror contemplating the past week's events while dressing up for college. When I looked at the reflection, everything seemed normal, but the golden colour around my eyes had dimmed considerably.

After giving a light check to myself, I went down to have breakfast with others. At the table, everyone was having light talk while Mom was serving breakfast. Alina, as usual, was happily talking with Dad. I also sat down beside Dad, silent as usual.

Mom quickly served us breakfast while also sitting with us, having breakfast together. I stared at the bowl of soup in my hand. A small reflection of mine appeared in it like a shadow, reminding me of what is coming.

'Hope, it won't be as destructive as in the past. Hope… hope… huh, not good.'

I came out of my thoughts and started eating silently, giving a glance to others, but no one seemed to notice my absent-mindedness. I finished my meal, ready for college. As I was walking out of the house, Dad called me.

"Lucian, I will drop you two." He was standing behind me with the car keys with Alina.

"Hm", I nodded at him.

We all sat in the car and went to college together. After dropping us off at the college, Dad left, and we headed for our classes.

I entered the classroom as usual, going for a corner seat. This classroom was filled crowd many people talking with others, some were busy on the phone, and very few were reading books. A normal day.

I sat in my seat silently, waiting for the teacher to arrive. Finally, the teacher came into the class, and she was Verina. She came in and proceeded with her introduction. It turned out she wasn't just a new teacher, but my class teacher too.

The class proceeded as usual and came to an end, and she left while the next class also began after a few minutes. Everything was as it should be, which was making me uncomfortable.

'Luckily, I had already chosen my path, and with each passing day, the Dream Beast will grow at a rapid pace. Maybe next week, it may step into the 9th stage of the Nightmare realm.' With this thought, I calmed my mind.

'Sooner or later, I would have to face it. Instead of doing in despair, better to do on my own accord.'

Once all the classes were over, I went to the cafeteria for lunch, but on the way, I saw Alina, who was also going there with her friends. I ignored and went alone. While I was having my meal alone, two people sat in front of me, a boy and a girl.

I put down my plate and gave them a long look because everyone in the surrounding area was staring at us. The boy has red hair and red eyes, quite distinct from others, and the girl has blonde hair with green eyes; both of them stood out in the crowd. Seeing my stare, the boy opened his mouth.

"Lucian, right?" he asked with a confident tone.

"Hm", I nodded.

"My brother wants to meet you in person right now. Come with me." He ordered like he owned this place.

Hearing his words, murmurs spread in the surroundings. I ignored him and continued my meal.

"You…" He slammed his hand on the table, staring at me angrily. I glanced at him, our eyes met, and a vision of a red dragon standing above a volcano, as the whole world burns, appeared in front of my eyes. This dragon was standing majestically above the giant volcano, looking at the burning world like everything was beneath him.

'Good... so this world also has mythical creatures, and this world is of dragons.' Thought it seemed destructive, but it wasn't dragon figure was vague; most likely, he wasn't the true carrier of this world's destiny.

I broke eye contact, and the red-haired boy fell unconscious on the table. It caused a massive uproar in the cafeteria, but that blond girl quickly took action, placing her hand over the boy's head, waking him up instantly.

Fortunately, after this, both of them quickly left without saying a word, but this had already been seen by everyone in the cafeteria. As I was thinking what to do now Alina approached me.

"How do you know Ray…" she asked in a curious yet a bit tense voice, but I cut her off in the middle, "I don't know him."

Saying this, I stood up and left the cafeteria. As I was walking out, I met Verina, who was blocking my way.

"What?" I asked, not wanting to be part of another chaos.

"Do you want to talk here?" She asked back, Likely things have escalated quite far. I decided to listen to her for the time being.

"Lead the way," I said calmly. She walked forward, and I followed behind her. My mind was carrying many doubts.

'The speed at which things are escalating is much faster than I expected. At this speed, maybe there are only a few months left before the disaster hits.'

Soon, we came in front of the closed room. Verina quickly opened the door, heading in while glancing at me to follow her. Without hesitation, I headed in. Once I came inside, there stood two people, Verina and Iris, both of them staring at me.
