I was going to college with Alina using public transport. The bus was filled with a lot of people, but my eyes weren't on them. Instead, my gaze was directed outside, the vast blue sky filled with clusters of clouds that gave them the look of cotton candy.
This scene looks so ordinary, yet so divine. The beauty of this world highlights itself.
'Even though I am not one of these. I can still enjoy this view, though I can't breathe in this fresh air, but I can see others. Even if I can't touch or feel anything, being able to see is enough. At least I can still be an observer.'
Things had reached such a state that I could do nothing about them except watch them as an observer. I had lost myself in the Black Sea of Nightmares, while the dream beast took over my real self. The roles had reversed, the one who used to be a shadow is now real.
Currently, the one going with Alina is my shadow, or I am his shadow.
The bus was moving fast, passing through the main highway, entering the city. The city was crowded as usual, filled with traffic and noise. Slowly, the traffic continued to clear up as the bus moved forward, arriving at our destination.
After this, Alina and I both went to our classes separately. I entered the classroom, it was as usual crowded, the students talking, some laughing, while a few were having fights. I went straight to my corner seat and sat there silently.
Watching this shadow was like looking in the mirror. Everything seemed to be as usual, just like I used to do things. Everything was a complete replica of mine. The only difference was, I wasn't the one in control.
A few minutes later, Verina came to class, but she froze on her steps. As her gaze met mine. I could clearly see the shock in her eyes; this wasn't just shock, but also fear. Most likely, she had thought I was killed by that mf.
Her fear wasn't really of any use to me. Instead, it was a threat; if she informed that crazed dragon, he might also come after the dream beast, and if the dream beast died. Then everything ends.
This shadow had never shown a tendency to be psycho, so why would it still show itself in public? Most likely, he also had some plans.
'This shadow had more to itself than I initially thought.'
I continued to watch the Verina expression. After staring at her for a few seconds, I gave her a slight smile. Seeing my smile, her facial features changed a bit, but she quickly composed herself. She came to the podium and started her lecture as usual, avoiding me the whole time.
Even though she was acting as usual, her body posture, her shaking hands, her slightly distorted voice, and the excessive sweat streaming down her back said it all.
I could watch her every moment because in the whole classroom, wherever shadows were, my eyes were there too. Though being imprisoned, I could only watch without being able to do anything, but it had enhanced my observation range. Right now, I wasn't able to do anything except for watching.
I had stepped into the realm of a true seer, where I could watch anything and everything, though it was still far from being omniscient because the range is limited.
Verina wasn't just giving a lecture; she had also informed the other, using her phone, which was placed under the desk. She was really careful when doing it, trying her best to avoid my eyes, but I could see everything clearly because darkness is me. As for the shadow, it was his plan to begin with; most likely, he was planning something big.
The class came to an end, just as Verina started leaving, I too stood up, following her out of the class. As I got out of the class, I saw Iris standing outside. She was alone; other dragon kings hadn't come with her. We stared at each other for a few seconds before I took the lead, leaving behind a few words, "Follow me."
I walked forward, while Iris followed behind just like before, but the roles had reversed. We came in front of the same room where a few days ago, Iris told me about dragon kings. When I entered the room, she also followed me in.
Inside, we stood facing each other. The atmosphere of the room had turned icy cold, filled with absolute silence; her breathing was the only audible sound in this room, her eyes locked on me. The dim light was slowly flickering as darkness was devouring the room with each passing second; the light was vanishing.
"How, how are you still alive?" As she spoke, the darkness fell, and all the lights went off.
When the light came back, my hand was grabbing her neck, dangling her in the air. She was given a dim silver light, which was constantly being devoured by darkness, as corruption flowed through her body. Her eyes were losing light with each passing second. Her veins turned black, and her eyes almost popped out of her sockets. An eerie sight, yet calm. Calm, like the ocean.
As I thought, the shadow would kill her, but his plans were a bit different. I let go of her neck as she fell on the ground, breathing hastily, her eyes a tiny streak of blood came from them, and her body shivering, shivering in extreme fear. Her skin had also turned deadly white, which was slowly gaining its original colour back.
"From now on, you will work for me," I said to her, while she was still catching her breath. Hearing my words, she tried to say something, but started vomiting black blood before even the words came out of her mouth.
"You don't have any choice, this is an order. Let's see what these dragon kings got that gave them this much confidence." I said in a chilling voice, as light flickered continuously, adding extra weight to words.
