Lucas Kane couldn't help but feel a favorable impression of the Orasia Army. After all, he was a citizen of Orasia himself. When it came to selling equipment, he naturally leaned toward supporting the military.
Brian Wang saluted both Lucas Kane and Victor Lark. "Thank you, both of you!"
Victor Lark smiled. "In that case, I'll take two sets of Cloth Armor and one set of Leather Armor. The rest will go to you, Captain Brian."
He added with a chuckle, "My two daughters have also entered the game, otherwise I'd only need one set of Cloth Armor."
The surrounding crowd went silent, their expressions a mix of confusion and awe.
Three beta testers in one family?
What kind of divine luck was this?
Even Brian Wang's mouth twitched. "It would be great if our military could be as lucky as Mr. Lark and his daughters."
In the huge Orasia Army, only 30,000 people qualified for the public beta test. Naturally, the Blackbird Army only had 30,000 players. To Brian Wang, that number was far too small. Three million would have been better!
The transaction went smoothly. Victor Lark's wealth ensured a seamless deal, and the Orasia Army certainly wasn't short on funds. Forty pieces of white equipment were exchanged for 240 silver coins. The six Small White Bags were split evenly between Victor Lark and Brian Wang for another 60 silver coins.
Total: 300 silver coins — 3 gold coins (30,000 Creds)
Both Lucas Kane and Brian Wang were stunned. Thirty thousand Creds—over three months of overtime could barely earn that. Now, Lucas Kane had made it in a few hours. And this was just the beginning. With better equipment, he could earn even more. Paying off his parents' debt would come sooner than he imagined. His mother wouldn't have to work so hard anymore.
Lucas exhaled, feeling a weight lift from his chest. Since his father passed away, he'd carried immense pressure. Now, it seemed to ease bit by bit.
After the transaction, Brian Wang hesitated, then asked, "Brother Kane, are you interested in joining the military?"
Lucas Kane was startled but shook his head. "I'm sorry, Captain Brian. I'm used to living freely. The military has too many rules and isn't for me."
Joining would mean revealing his personal information. Even though he respected the Orasia Army, Lucas Kane wasn't willing to gamble with his safety—at least not yet. Only when his strength grew would he have the confidence to reveal his identity in reality.
Brian Wang sighed inwardly. His invitation had been more exploratory than formal, so Lucas Kane's refusal didn't surprise him. After all, Lucas Kane's abilities allowed him to live comfortably without military ties.
However, Lucas Kane's next words made Brian Wang's eyes light up. "Although I won't join the military, if I come across suitable equipment in the future, I'll give you priority."
"Thank you so much!" Brian Wang exclaimed.
Victor Lark laughed. "Brother Kane, you can't just look after the military—I need equipment too!"
"Don't worry, Brother Victor, I won't forget you," Lucas Kane replied with a smile.
The three added each other as friends and parted ways.
Once Lucas Kane left, his private messages erupted.
"Boss, can you take me with you?""Boss, give me some equipment. You drop so much, a few pieces won't matter, right?"
Some messages were disturbingly explicit, detailing personal information that made Lucas Kane suspect—photos might not even be allowed in the game, or these people wouldn't have sent such messages outright.
As a normal man, Lucas Kane appreciated beautiful women, but now wasn't the time. He needed to focus on improving himself. Annoyed, he set his game settings to block private messages from strangers. Suddenly, the world became quiet.
In a forest, two girls leveled up together.
One wore tattered Leather Armor, her snow-white arms and thighs exposed. Her tall, slender figure was striking, and she held a Longbow, each arrow hitting its mark with deadly precision.
The other wore a tattered Robe and held a Staff. Calm and gentle, she unleashed golden light arrows with graceful movements.
Surprisingly, the two girls had identical faces—equally delicate and beautiful. The only difference was the expression between their eyebrows: one quirky and bold, the other gentle and sweet.
The bow-wielding girl was Yueka Lark, while the staff wielder was Celina Lark.
Celina Lark paused, reading a private message. Without her support, Yueka Lark struggled against a Demonized Wild Boar, shouting repeatedly, "Celina! What are you doing?! I'm going to die!"
Celina Lark snapped back into focus, condensing two Light Arrows and firing. The boar fell wailing.
"Sorry, sister," Celina Lark said sheepishly. "It's a message from Dad. He bought us all a set of equipment and weapons."
"White equipment," she added.
Yueka Lark's eyes sparkled. "Wow! Did Dad go robbing a store? How did he get so much white equipment?!"
Both sisters were extremely lucky, their Soul Talents activated and aligned in the same village. Teaming up made leveling efficient—but Celina Lark knew firsthand how hard it was to obtain equipment. Now, with Dad supplying a full set, Yueka Lark was ecstatic.
Celina Lark smiled gently, understanding her sister's excitement. "Don't forget what kind of person Dad is. He bought it from a young man he said was incredibly lucky."
Yueka Lark frowned in disbelief. "One person got several sets of white equipment? Even someone extremely lucky can't do that!"
Celina Lark tapped her sister's head gently. "Don't speculate. We don't know the full story."
"But Dad already sent the gear via email," she added. "Looks like there are two smaller Small White Bags with extra space—one for each of us."
Yueka Lark's mind raced. "Could a monster drop something like this?"
The sisters couldn't wait. "Let's go get our equipment!" Yueka Lark exclaimed.
Celina Lark nodded, and together, they began their journey back.
