After replenishing his supplies, Lucas Kane left Silvermoon Village once again.
This time, his target was no longer the demonized rats in the farmland.
As a level 2 player, the level 1 Demon Rat could no longer challenge him. His desire for a stronger fight pushed him to find a new opponent.
The forest behind the farmland was dense and alive with movement. Many wild dogs roamed within—creatures the size of Samoyeds, their black fur glistening, eyes glowing red, and teeth as pale and sharp as knives.
-----------------------------------------
[Demonized Wild Dog (Normal)] Level: 2 Health: 120 Attack: 7 Introduction: Originally an ordinary wild dog, this creature was corrupted by demonic energy, transforming into a violent, bloodthirsty predator.
-----------------------------------------
Lucas Kane grimaced at the monster's stats. A level 2 foe was significantly stronger than the level 1 Demon Rat, but with his current equipment and potions, he was confident he could handle it—though a single misstep could be fatal.
He opened the Drop List to survey the loot first. As expected, the drops were still white and gray items. His eyes immediately focused on the weapons.
-----------------------------------------
[Rusty Greatsword (Common)] — Attack +6 Required Level: 2 Drop Rate: 0.8%
-----------------------------------------
A slight improvement over his previous level 1 Rusty Greatsword, and definitely worth replacing his current weapon.
Lucas Kane squared his shoulders and charged.
The Demonized Wild Dog hit harder than the rats, each bite costing him 4 HP, but his own attacks were stronger now. In just a few precise strikes, he brought the beast down, losing barely 20 HP in the process.
After every three kills, he drank a health potion, restoring his vitality immediately. Each battle further reinforced his endurance; eventually, even repeated attacks from the dogs barely scratched him.
The forest was now a chaotic battlefield. Lucas Kane, fully equipped and agile, cut down wild dogs one by one.
Nearby players gawked, stunned.
"Holy crap, that guy! He's almost as efficient solo as our team of three!"
"Look at his health potions! And that equipment… it's insane!"
"One potion costs 80 coppers! How can he afford this?!"
Some muttered enviously, others speculated.
"I heard someone in the Novice Village drops items every kill… always white items. Could it be him?"
Lucas Kane, unfazed by their whispers, pressed on.
Suddenly, his Drop List highlighted something unusual—the first item from a Demonized Wild Dog was green.
-----------------------------------------
[Wild Dog Leather Jacket (Uncommon)] — Leather Armor, Defense +15, Agility +1 Required Level: 2 Drop Rate: 0.004%
-----------------------------------------
His eyes widened. A level 2 leather armor with 15 defense? That was double what his current mail provided. And an additional 1 agility point? Outrageous for the early game.
He immediately set the item to drop, rushing forward with his sword to ensure no one else claimed it. A few quick strikes later, the green ball of light floated above the fallen dog.
Nearby players froze, eyes wide.
"Green?! It's green!"
"Look at the stats!"
Excited murmurs ran through the crowd. Some even asked if it was for sale.
Lucas Kane calmly posted the item's attributes in chat. The crowd fell silent in awe.
"I kind of want to rob him too," muttered a girl nearby, half-joking.
"This stat is insane! My gray leather armor only adds 7 defense… this is double plus agility!"
Lucas Kane ignored the chatter. He didn't trade casually in gold coins or cash. Privacy was key, and cash transactions could expose personal info. Only gold coins on the platform mattered.
Opening a private chat, he invited Victor Lark and Brian Wang. Both joined instantly. Lucas Kane sent them the stats of the Wild Dog Leather Jacket.
Victor Lark: "???????"
Brian Wang: "???????"
