After the last event that confuses Felix, suddenly, Seren lifted her head after getting buried in her arms. Her eyes are still half-lidded as she turns to Felix's face. She rubbed her eyes as she realized that Felix had awakened.
"Brother! You're awake!?" She said out loud, then immediately jumped; buckling and embracing Felix. She whined, kicking her leg in the air. "Ahh, you've been lying here for a whole day."
"A-akh! It hurts!" Felix tantrum.
Seren kept whining; completely ignoring Felix. In this situation, somebody let out a clearing throat. When Felix tilted his head; Seren looked at her back, there's already a doctor giving an awkward smile wearing eyeglasses who were holding a clip board on his left chest. It made the whole room become silent, and they stared awkwardly.
"Ouh… it looks like I have interrupted something." The doctor said politely in German.
"Ah- uhh, sorry." Seren let Felix go, then sat back to her chair as before, awkwardly trying to hide her red face by looking down.
"It's fine, you can come in, doctor." Felix said in German while maintaining his politeness after the coincidence occurred.
The doctor, who wears a white suit, white pants, black shoes, white mask, light blue and black dots tie, and a white pair of gloves, approaches Felix's bed. He doesn't look mature. He looks quite young, actually—like an adult around 22-26 years old but having clear skin and somewhat a good first-impression. On his right chest, there's an ID card: Dr. Med. Julian Hoffman. He stood beside Felix's bed across Seren's sight.
"I'm sorry for bothering you, but I have something to inform you about." Said the doctor in English.
Seren lifted her head, rubbing her face with both hands to throw away her embarrassment. Meanwhile, Felix nodded as a response to tell the doctor to go on.
The doctor slightly nodded, "Okay…. Firstly, …" he took a long breath, then "How did you even get into a conversation with Mr. Friedrich!?" He said out loud, resting his arms to the edge of Felix's bed aggressively to demand an answer.
"Huh?" Felix said. Meanwhile, Seren got startled like a cat.
"My god, he's like, my idol! He's the one who inspired me to strive. I've always wanted to be like him! However, … my parents are so strict that they forced me to become a doctor." The doctor sniffed, then pointed to Felix as if he's a criminal. "YOU! Why did Mr. Friedrich even looked for you!? He even bore to step his feet to this sleazy hospital just for you 2!"
What the heck. What's wrong with this dude? Well… it looks like even the hospital doesn't know where I'm from. Well, I bet his parents were Asians. Felix wondered while putting on a cringe face. On the other hand, Seren reacted by tilting her head to the side while giving a confused expression. She was like: Who's Friedrich?
"Yeah, well… it's an important discussion…." Felix explains.
"What is it?" The doctor asked.
"It's confidential. I can't tell you.
The doctor kneels in the feeling of pity and envy. "I'm a live-saver here, and you're just a total stranger—not even an official nor other bigwigs."
Uhmm, sir. I'm actually from a prominent family…. Whatever.
"I didn't even get his signature." The doctor sighed, then he stood up. "He really is a busy man." He let out a long sigh, then cleared his throat. "Alright, sorry, I was overreacting there…." He sweeps his pants. "Yeah…" He looked down to the clip board on his hand. "Okay, so… Mr… Felix. According to the data, you've been unconscious for 27 hours…. During the time, we took some samples of blood from both of you. We also took a few questions from your sister."
27? Damn.
"For now, you will undergo a period of treatment for an indefinite time. There's a huge wound on your back, and there's quite an identification on both of you ...." The doctor fixed his eyeglass. "Man, both of you really are strangers; as if y'all astray from the outside of the wall."
Felix and Seren simultaneously laughed awkwardly.
Wall? Felix thought.
"Other than that, it looks like you don't have any major injuries. If it's about psychology or trauma, I couldn't really help you. So, take care of yourself, okay? Y'all are still very young." The doctor then pulled his sleeves to reveal a golden watch. "Ouh…. It looks like I had to go. I will have to check on another patient in a few minutes."
"Okay, then. I won't get myself overwhelmed or something…." Felix said in German.
"You know German!?" The doctor replied in German.
"Yes."
"Then, why would I even speak English at first?" The doctor laughed.
"Well, my sister… even though we're not consanguine, apparently doesn't speak German."
"Ouh! I see, I see."
The doctor looked at Seren. Then, he whispers to Felix. "Your sister has taken care of you when you're unconscious; she waited day and night. You're lucky to have someone like her." He winked.
Both of them laughed. "Yeah, I am." Felix said. On the other hand, Seren tilted her head in confusement.
The doctor then tapped on Felix's shoulder gently before heading out behind those curtains. "Take care." He said in English as Felix responded by a nod. And when he's about to leave, the doctor suddenly turned his head slightly. "Still, I won't forgive you, stranger! … I will never forget the moment that Mr. Friedrich stepped his feet in this hospital! But rather it was only for you…. I envy you."
The doctor walked off slowly while giving a cynical stare. Meanwhile, Felix waved with a weak grin.
