After the doctor leaves, Felix turns to Seren. "You're right… a whole day."
"Yeah…" Seren leaned to Felix, then hugged him. "I'm sorry, because of me, you got injured badly…." She felt guilty.
"It's fine, Seren. It's not your fault; I was just protecting you." Felix then hugged Seren back. "More importantly, I'm a little curious about this place…. Have you gone outside and checked the surroundings?"
Seren releases their embrace. "Yes…. It's somewhat odd to me." She fixed her position on the chair. "This place… looked so peaceful."
Woah, I know the Germans have been the strongest country since then. They even won World War 2 along with its allies.... Still, how on earth did they even face those monsters? … No wonder why the Chronicles often came in this direction. Felix's thoughts got scrambled up.
Felix raises his eyebrow. " Really?"
"Yes. There's a lot of citizens here living their life peacefully. Well, you'll see when you're out of this hospital." Seren answers.
Felix nodded.
After quite a while, a nurse came behind those curtains; holding 2 metal lunchboxes. The nurse approached Seren and then gave her the lunchbox. She left the room without saying a word. On the other hand, Seren said, 'Thanks' to the nurse when she left. Felix looked at Seren. She put on a 'whatever' face and let out a sigh.
Immediately, Seren handed a lunchbox to Felix's hand; he then lifted himself to sit. Seren opened the lunchbox excitedly while Felix did so. Inside, there was already a fork and a knife. For the meal, a thin steak, 2 breads, and veggies. Seren took the first bite, she munched in excitement, and wiggled her body on the chair. Felix pierces the steak with the fork, then uses the knife to cut a small piece; he took his first bite.
Oh, god…. It's been a while since we haven't eaten a proper dish. I'm so grateful. Felix thought. He then remembered the time he got the 'Follow the riverside, my friend.' dream—he got a glimpse of flashback. Thank you for the guidance. He thanked.
As they finished their meal, they placed the metal lunchboxes on the table beside Felix's bed.
"By the way, how's Théo?" Felix asked.
"Uhm, he's okay, only a few wounds…. But it doesn't matter! He has already been treated by the vet!"
"Oh, great. Also… I've forgotten to ask you," Felix fixed his position. "Are you hurt?"
"Hm…? No… only a few scratches and a little headache. I'm okay! Why did you ask so late? Bro." Seren smirked.
"I- I don't know…. There's a bunch of things I don't understa-"
The curtains suddenly opened. The nurse from before appeared. Like, man, why can't they keep some privacy?
"Miss Seren, you are called by Doctor Julian Hoffman. Please come with me."
Seren immediately on her feet, "Oh, I'm coming!" She approached the nurse and then turned to Felix. "Wait, I'll be back soon!" She winked, then followed the nurse.
Felix nodded. "'Kay…."
For moments, the room felt empty. Felix laid down, staring at the ceiling. He sighed. But then, he remembered…,
"Hold on…. When I was at the battlefield, why didn't I hear the Chronicles' sound?"
Gasp. "I forgot!".
Suddenly, he heard a woman gasping panicky in his mind. As a reflex, he gazes around the room, searching for the sound source. He couldn't find it. He tried to wing it instead—perhaps it was only a delusion. Soon after, the room felt so… empty. There's nothing. Even so, he only heard a clock ticking somewhere around the room. He felt somewhat tired; so, his eyes slowly began to lid. He took another session of sleeping after a long time of 27 hours of sleep, ha.
As Felix closed his eyes, not long after. He opened his eyes and gasped. He appears to be in a white space. There's nothing there. There's only the white color as far as the eye can see and white thin fog.
"Felix…, you've made it to the destination of my plan. But… I'm sorry… you will be my puppet." A woman who sounded perfectly like the one who instructed Felix from before whispers at Felix's right ear; she was right behind Felix.
Felix immediately turned his head to the back, and he realized… there's no one behind him. He panicky scanned the area; it was useless. "W-who are you?" He asked.
As he tried to process everything, the void floor he stood on began to rumble. Everything shaked like an earthquake of 8 magnitudes. He was nothing but a little helpless being because of this mightiness.
The surroundings rumble, and Felix's body starts to sort of like glitching. His view turned to the middle of a steampunk city; the view looked old. Every citizen in the area wore Victorian Era outfits. About half a kilometer away, there's a huge building in the middle of the view—it stands out the most compared to the rest of the buildings around.
Then, glitch. He was now seeing a medieval town where there are knights and women wearing colorful dresses. There are many old buildings, and it was built with stone walls, wooden structure, and a roof made out of hays.
Then, glitch. He saw an imaginary cyberpunk metropolitan city—tall, neon, and eye-catching buildings are all over. A lot of futuristic cars pass by. Even the people are wearing catchy, neon outfits.
Then, glitch. He saw nothing but grassland and mountains. However, there are huge wyverns in many colors; wandering around the mountain in a group. Then, glitch. All in a glimpse of an eye.
Felix suddenly got up from the bed in a bedroom where it was all furniture neatly, the lights were softly adjusted, the atmosphere felt warm and lovely, just like home. Was it all just a dream? He sweats, body trembling, and pale face.
"W-what again?!"
