Chapter: Campus Chaos & Teasing
Jay had barely set her bag down in the quad when Percy appeared, bouncing on the balls of his feet.
"Jay! Keif! I knew you'd survive your honeymoon hangover, but look at you—together, in public, AND still breathing. I'm impressed."
Aries groaned from behind, dragging a backpack twice his size. "Stepbro, shut up. She's mine to protect first."
Jay buried her face in her hands. "Percy, Aries, stop. I can't deal with you today!"
Keifer just laughed, looping an arm possessively around her waist. "Relax, Jay. They're harmless. Mostly."
"Mostly?" Jay muttered, already sensing trouble.
Their first lecture didn't help. Keifer, sitting one row behind her in Literature class, found every excuse to lean over—hands brushing hers as he whispered, "You're so focused… I love it."
Jay glared at him. "Keifer!"
"Hmm?" he whispered, grinning like a cat who'd caught the cream. "I said… you're gorgeous, Jay. Distracting in the best way."
Her blush was hot enough to melt her notes. Percy, sitting a few rows behind them, whistled. "Ohhh, PDA in class! Love it."
"PERCY!" Jay hissed, nearly dropping her pen.
Lunchtime was no better. Keifer carried her bag, whispered little compliments while she ate, and stole bites of her sandwich when she wasn't looking.
"Keif!" she laughed, swatting his hand away. "You're ridiculous."
"I'm married to you," he said simply, tugging her onto a bench so he could press a kiss to her temple. "Ridiculous is my job now."
"Ugh, you're insufferable."
"Insatiable," he corrected, and Jay could only groan, hiding her grin.
By mid-afternoon, Section E had stationed themselves strategically: Percy teasing nonstop, Ella whispering inappropriate comments about how cute they are together, and Yuri pretending to be "helpful" but really just watching Jay squirm.
Jay tried to focus on her assignments in the library, but every glance from Keifer—smirk, raised brow, finger brushing hers—made her heart skip.
"Jay," he whispered when no one else was near, "we should make a new rule. Every time I catch you daydreaming about me, I get a kiss."
Jay froze. "Keifer—professors are right there."
"And?" He leaned close enough for her to feel his breath. "We're married. I can do whatever I want."
She wanted to protest, but her words died in a sigh, because he was right. She loved it.
By the end of the day, Jay realized something: university might be full of chaos, teasing, and impossible distractions… but as long as Keifer was by her side, it felt like the perfect adventure.
Even when Percy was annoying, Aries was glaring at everyone who looked at her, and Yuri was pretending to "help" her study.
Keifer was hers. She was his. And in between lectures, library corners, and stolen kisses, they were unstoppable.
