Chapter 16 - Trouble

Chapter: Back to Campus, Trouble Edition

The Monday morning after their unforgettable weekend, Jay was pretty sure her legs were still weak. Keifer, of course, looked like he just stepped out of a billionaire bachelor magazine shoot. Black slacks, crisp white shirt, jacket lazily thrown over his shoulder—smug smile in place.

"Stop looking so proud of yourself," she muttered as they walked across campus.

"Why not? You couldn't even get out of bed yesterday without whining my name." His smirk deepened.

Jay elbowed him hard. "Shut up!"

"Make me," he whispered low, right into her ear.

Her face burned. "Keifer Watson, I swear—"

Before she could finish, Section E spotted them. Yuri, Ci-n, and the rest practically ran over.

"Ohhh look who finally made it back to school!" Yuri hollered. "Mr. and Mrs. Weekend Getaway."

Jay groaned. "Don't start."

"Too late." Felix leaned in, dramatic. "Jay, blink twice if he kidnapped you."

"I'd never let her go," Keifer said smoothly, wrapping his arm around Jay's waist like he owned her.

Section E erupted into chaos.

"BROOO—"

"—PUBLIC DISPLAY ALERT—"

"—Yuri, take a picture, this is history—"

Jay covered her face, mortified, while Keifer looked absolutely unbothered.

And then, in the middle of the noisy quad, Keifer casually kissed her temple. "Relax, Mutya. They'll get used to us."

"Keifer!" she hissed, shoving at him.

"Oh my god, they're disgustingly cute," David gagged. "Who allowed this?"

"I didn't," Yuri said, snapping another picture anyway.

Lunch Chaos 🍴

At the cafeteria, Jay thought she'd finally get peace. Wrong. Section E shoved her and Keifer to the same table.

"Couple's corner," Yuri announced, pushing their trays together.

"Stop it, we're not—" Jay tried.

"Yes you are," Keifer cut in, smirking as he stole fries off her plate.

"Jay, blink if you need us to save you from this tyrant," Mica whispered.

Jay blinked. Twice. Quickly.

"HEY!" Keifer barked, but Section E roared with laughter.

Still, when Jay leaned forward to grab her drink, Keifer's hand rested on her thigh under the table. She froze, glaring at him.

He leaned close, whispering so only she could hear: "If you keep glaring at me like that, I'm taking you back to the mansion right now."

Her face turned scarlet. "You wouldn't."

His grin was sinful. "Try me."

Afternoon Lecture 🎓

Of course, they ended up in the same lecture hall. Jay was taking Literature as her major, while Keifer was deep in Business—but this one course overlapped.

The professor droned on, but Keifer's attention was all on Jay. He slid her a note halfway through class.

Still sore from the weekend?

Jay almost choked. She scribbled back furiously:

Stop being disgusting.

He chuckled quietly, then wrote again:

You love it, Mrs. Watson.

Her cheeks went crimson. Section E, sitting behind them, caught sight of the exchange and started whispering like gossiping aunties.

Jay wanted the floor to swallow her whole.

Keifer? He just sat there, looking like the smug billionaire heir he was, completely entertained by her suffering.

By the end of the day, Jay was exhausted—not from classes, but from trying to survive Section E's teasing and Keifer's relentless flirting.

When they finally reached the car, Keifer opened the door for her, leaning close. "Told you it'd be fun."

Jay shot him a look. "Fun for you."

"Fun for both of us," he corrected, brushing a kiss across her lips before she could argue.

And damn it—she melted anyway.
