The world waited in silence.December 12, 2017. Tokyo.
Every television screen, every phone, every billboard—every device in Japan was tuned to one channel. The government conference was about to begin. The world was about to hear the truth.
Families gathered in living rooms. Reporters lined up in anticipation. Countless faces reflected the same mixture of fear and hope. Some watched to find answers. Others watched for confirmation that the nightmares they'd been whispering about were real.
At 10:30 a.m., the live broadcast began.
"Good morning, citizens of Japan," the anchor said with composed urgency. "We are here for the official press conference regarding the supernatural incidents that have shaken the nation. Please welcome—Mr. Kurotsuki Tenkai and Mr. Gojo Satoru."
Applause echoed across the room, mixed with gasps and camera flashes.
Tenkai adjusted his tie, stepping up to the podium beside Gojo, who for once wore his blindfold properly and stood in dignified silence. The lights dimmed slightly. Every eye was on Tenkai.
He inhaled deeply. "Good morning to all citizens of Japan—and to the people watching around the world. I am Kurotsuki Tenkai."
The crowd hushed completely.
"I will speak plainly," he continued. "For decades, our world has been haunted by forces beyond human understanding. We have called them ghosts, spirits, or demons—but their true name is Cursed Spirits."
A murmur spread across the audience.
"These entities," Tenkai continued, "are born from human malice—our hatred, fear, envy, and regret. When negative emotions accumulate beyond control, they manifest into Cursed Energy… and that energy takes form."
He paused, letting his words sink in. "These curses are invisible to ordinary human eyes. But they are real. They kill, they consume, and they spread."
The hall fell silent except for the rapid clicks of reporters' cameras.
"That," Tenkai said, "is why the Japanese government has officially established a new force—the National Cursed Division."
He motioned to the large digital screen behind him. A symbol appeared: a spiraling circle with intersecting lines—the emblem of the Division.
"This organization," Tenkai explained, "will operate independently, trained to combat supernatural threats. It will include several divisions:
Division 0: Composed of Special Grade Sorcerers.
Division 1: Grade 1 sorcerers, elite veterans.
Division 2: New soldiers or ability users working in coordinated teams.
Division 3: Logistics and field support.
Division 4: Medical and emergency response units."
Gojo leaned in, whispering to him, "Nice presentation. I should hire you to teach public speaking at Jujutsu High."
Tenkai didn't look at him. "Shut up."
Gojo smiled under his blindfold.
Tenkai continued. "To assist this division, we have designed technology capable of supporting both ordinary soldiers and awakened individuals." He gestured toward the screen again, which displayed sleek weapons and armor.
"Cursed Energy–infused bullets, detection radars, and adaptive exosuits—these will help combat lower-grade curses. However," he raised a hand, "such technology will be strictly government-controlled. We cannot risk their misuse."
The reporters nodded, furiously taking notes.
"For civilians," he continued, "we are releasing special glasses and cameras that can visualize curses. For the first time, ordinary people will be able to see the invisible threats that haunt them."
The crowd gasped again.
Then Tenkai's tone shifted—calm but commanding. "Some of you may have noticed individuals worldwide displaying abnormal powers. Those are what we call Cursed Techniques. They are abilities unique to each individual—born from their connection to cursed energy. These abilities are rare, sometimes hereditary, and generally passed down through bloodlines."
A reporter raised her hand. "Mr. Kurotsuki, do you mean these powers can appear anywhere in the world?"
"Yes," Tenkai replied. "Although Japan has the highest density of cursed energy due to its history and spiritual culture, similar phenomena are now emerging globally."
He took another breath. "Even without a Cursed Technique, a person can still fight. What's needed to destroy a curse… is cursed energy itself. My company has developed technology that can channel cursed energy into weapons, allowing trained users to fight back—even those without innate abilities."
He glanced at the cameras. "As for the classification of curses—let me simplify it."
The screen displayed a pyramid.
"Grade 4 curses are the weakest—equivalent to small firearms in lethality. Grade 3 curses are like grenades or RPGs. Grade 2 curses compare to heavy artillery. Grade 1 curses…" he paused, "…are comparable to classified military missiles. And Special Grade curses," his voice deepened, "are living catastrophes. If left unchecked, they could destroy an entire nation."
The audience went dead silent.
"The National Cursed Division," Tenkai concluded, "will be ready to face all of these threats by 2018. To those recently awakened to cursed energy—you are urged to register officially. You will receive training, guidance, and evaluation through our advanced AI system, codename Sentinel-01. This AI will ensure fairness, efficiency, and immediate response during crises."
Gojo leaned toward the microphone. "In short—our new AI boss will yell at you if you slack off."
Laughter rippled through the room, breaking the tension.
Tenkai shot him a look. "Professionalism, Gojo."
"Right, right," Gojo said, grinning. "Sorry, Director Kurotsuki."
The hall chuckled softly. Even through the seriousness, the dynamic between the two strongest men in Japan was oddly comforting.
Tenkai finished with a deep bow. "Together—with strength, wisdom, and unity—we will ensure Japan's safety. Thank you."
...
Immediately, dozens of hands shot up.
"Mr. Kurotsuki! Can you confirm how long these curses have existed?"
Gojo smirked. "As long as humans have had emotions. So basically, forever. Congratulations, humanity — you've been cursed since day one!"
Reporters blinked. "That's… rather blunt."
"Truth's supposed to hurt," Gojo replied with a grin.
Another reporter stood. "Do we currently have the capability to destroy a Special Grade threat?"
Tenkai's gaze was sharp. "We already have. Multiple times."
Gojo leaned forward. "You're looking at two people who can. The rest—well, they're catching up."
The audience whispered in awe.
Then someone asked, "Mr. Kurotsuki, do you come from one of Japan's ancient clans?"
The room froze again.
Tenkai smiled faintly. "No. I'm… one of the rare exceptions. My power isn't from a bloodline—it's self-made."
The crowd murmured in surprise. Cameras flashed endlessly.
"Self-made?" a reporter whispered. "A non-clan sorcerer stronger than Special Grade…?"
The conference ended with thunderous applause. Both men stood side by side as the national anthem played softly in the background.
...
Within minutes, the internet exploded.

Television experts debated endlessly:
Economists wondered about the weaponization of curses.
Philosophers argued whether human negativity was now a measurable resource.
Parents clutched their children tighter.
Japan had changed — and the world was watching
That evening, after countless interviews and photographs, Tenkai and Gojo finally left the government building.
Gojo grinned. "See? Told you I clean up nice."
"You nearly caused a diplomatic incident by joking about humanity's hatred," Tenkai replied dryly.
"Hey, the truth's the truth," Gojo said, stretching. "Besides, the camera loves me."
Tenkai sighed, but a faint smile appeared. "Let's go home."
Gojo raised an eyebrow. "Your home or mine?"
"Shut up, Gojo."
...
When Tenkai arrived home, Alice and both their parents were waiting, their faces glowing with pride as they watched the news replay.
Alice ran to him and hugged him tightly. "You looked so cool up there," she whispered.
He smiled softly, patting her head. "You think so?"
"Mm-hmm. But next time, smile more," she teased.
Tenkai chuckled quietly. "I'll try."
Later that night, after a brief rest, he returned to Jujutsu High. Snow fell softly across the courtyard as he entered the main hall.
Inside sat Gojo Satoru, Yaga, Shoko Ieiri, Nanami, Maki, Yuta, and others. From the Kyoto side—Noritoshi Kamo, Aoi Todo, Kasumi Miwa, Mai Zenin, Momo Nishimiya, and Principal Gakuganji.
When Tenkai entered, all heads turned.
Gojo raised his hand casually. "Ah, finally. Everyone, meet the man you've all seen on TV today. Officially ranked Special Grade Sorcerer — Kurotsuki Tenkai."
Gasps echoed.
"Wait… THE Kurotsuki Tenkai?" Miwa stammered. "The billionaire engineer?"
"Yup," Gojo said cheerfully. "Also kills curses for breakfast."
Principal Gakuganji adjusted his glasses. "The record states he has personally exorcised over a hundred Grade 1 or Special Grade curses. Is that accurate?"
Yaga nodded firmly. "Every number verified."
Maki clenched her fists, impressed. Todo grinned wide. "My type of man! Strong and composed!"
Gojo leaned against the wall, smiling faintly. "Now that introductions are over… let's talk about the war."
Silence blanketed the room.
Gojo says."December 24rd. Geto moves. We move."
Tenkai folded his arms.
The room went still.
Outside, snow began to fall over Jujutsu High. The calm before the storm.
