The bonfire celebration was abruptly cut short when Jack received an urgent warning from the territory core.
**[Warning!]**
**[The watchtower detected a dark aura!]**
Jack had anticipated that the Dark Goblins might launch a counterattack, which is why he had strategically placed a watchtower at Red Rock Camp. Unlike the Human Clan Lords, Dark Lords lack the mobility and ability to refine territory divine stones. While some high-level Dark Lords might possess teleportation arrays, Gloomy Valley certainly does not.
It's likely this Dark Kind force didn't come directly from Gloomy City but mobilized from a nearby stronghold, allowing for their rapid response without a large-scale force.
Recognizing this, Jack decided it was time to face them head-on and issued a mission to the Adventurers.
"Another fight?" exclaimed one of the Adventurers in surprise.
"This is fantastic! Not only can we reimburse the contribution points we spent today, but we might even earn a bit extra!" another added eagerly.
The cost of staying at the inn was just 5 contribution points, while this mission offered 10 points as a reward. Successfully repelling the enemy would double that reward!
The Adventurers quickly readied themselves for battle. Miracle City organized thirty-six combat units. Luna Snow, Ethan Fields, Lone Wolf, Black Stone Hammer King, and Pig King were transformed into combat units through the Soldier's House, each assuming the form of their life soul troop type.
**[You are converting mercenaries. This conversion consumes 'zombie soul essence' ×31, 'mental power' ×155, 'soul crystal' ×155!]**
Thirty-one Adventurers were converted into Riot Zombies via the Mercenary House.
Meanwhile, at the Monster Camp, the Tank Zombie was prepped and ready. Jack spent 2 points of mental power to heal its injuries from the last battle.
With one Witch, one Tank, and two five-star combat units, Jack felt confident they were well-prepared.
After a brief moment of contemplation, Jack used 200 mental power to activate the skill secret crystal, mastering the 'Lord Possession Technique.'
**Current territory resources: mental power 1709, soul crystal 184, material essence 251!**
Despite substantial income, expenditures were equally significant. Securing additional income sources was crucial, and nothing generated resources faster than a decisive victory.

The Dark Races are a unique group within the Chaos World, not confined to a specific race. Any race can be corrupted by chaos and become a Dark Race. Unlike normal beings, the Dark Kind lack virtues and positive emotions like friendship and love. They are inherently cruel, driven by profit and conquest.
Within their ranks, the weak obey the strong, and lower species submit to higher species. They believe they are agents of the supreme chaotic will, with a mission to conquer and spread darkness across the world.
Black Bone, a Dark Kind Goblin from Gloomy City, was one of the generals under the Lord of Gloomy Valley. Recently stationed near Red Rock Mountain, he received news of an attack on the mine, likely by a Human Clan Lord.
Mobilizing fifty Goblin Warriors, Black Bone set off for Red Rock Mountain as soon as the chaotic tide receded. Human Clan Lords, rare in Gloomy Valley, are significant threats to the Dark Races. Defeating one could yield rich rewards and even a Blessing from the Mother of Darkness.
Red Rock Mountain is a vital resource site in Gloomy Valley, with most resources paid as tribute to higher Lords. The mine must not be lost! Black Bone, experienced in dealing with Human Clan Lords, was confident.
Given the new territory's likely brief existence, it wouldn't have cultivated many combat units. Though they might have seized Red Rock Camp through stealth or trickery, defending the mine seemed improbable.
Four hours later, near the mine, Gloomy City forces paused to rest before attacking.
"Stay alert," Black Bone warned. "The Human Clan are cunning and may have set traps nearby."
Suddenly, a rapid growl was heard, followed by the sound of trees crashing. A monstrous figure appeared before the Goblins. This creature stood nearly two meters tall, with a disproportionately strong right arm and an atrophied left arm. Its speed was astonishing as it charged into the Goblins.
"Hahaha, as expected of a Charger, this power is exhilarating!" exclaimed Pig King, who had transformed into the Charger, crashing through the Goblins and breaking their formation. With a huge arm, he swung a Goblin Warrior as a weapon.
"Taste Pig Grandpa's power again!"
The Charger Zombie's thick skin and rapid speed left the Goblins in disarray, resulting in one death and multiple injuries with a single charge. Their counterattacks—blades, axes, poison arrows—were futile against the Charger's brutal force.
Furious, Black Bone drew a bone spear and hurled it at the Charger. The spear, as fast as a bullet and as destructive as a sniper rifle, killed the Charger with a headshot.
"Holy crap! Old Pig actually died?" shouted an Adventurer.
"His Charger was a three-star Zombie!" another exclaimed.
"Kill, kill, kill! Avenge Old Pig!"
"Don't be rash; this boss is strong, possibly five-star level. Ergouzi, control him quickly!"
Pig King's sacrifice scattered the Goblin formation and helped Adventurers identify the enemy's strongest unit and attack method.
As Black Bone prepared a second spear, a long tongue attacked from behind, locking onto his throat. "What?!" he cried, dragged from formation by Lone Wolf, transformed into a Smoker.
Quickly, Black Bone drew a short knife and severed the Smoker's tongue. "Seeking death!" he snarled, readying another spear.
But before he could strike, a massive figure with muscles like mountains blocked his path. Though he'd never seen such a creature, its size and aura hinted at its power and terror.
What's happening? Black Bone wondered. Wasn't this a newly born Underground City? From the monstrous Charger to the tongue-spitting Smoker and now this massive Tank Zombie, could such power belong to a new city?
Unbeknownst to Black Bone, the Tank Zombie was not an ordinary soldier but one personally controlled by Lord Jack using the Possession Technique. Today, Jack would personally participate in the ambush and hunt!
