The sudden commotion startled everyone.
Pig King exclaimed, "Something's definitely up!"
Black Stone Hammer King added nervously, "Be careful, there might be a zombie in that carriage, and it could be a Tank!"
Indeed, among many zombies, only a Tank possessed such strength.
The four Adventurers quickly took battle positions.
Mandy remarked, "Lord Jack really set a trap. I knew it wouldn't be that easy to clear!"
Luna Snow frowned, "If it's a Tank, it might be tough to handle!"
Ethan Fields reassured, "Though the Tank Zombie is strong, we've defeated it before. There's nothing to fear!"
Lonely Swordsman alerted, "It's coming out!"
A massive figure kicked open the carriage door, leaping nearly ten meters to appear before them, leaving the Adventurers stunned.
It wasn't a Tank Zombie, nor any known zombie type! Standing about 2.3 meters tall, slightly smaller than a Tank, it was still massive, with a more coordinated build and an intimidating appearance.
Its skin appeared blackish-brown and corroded, with small, strange tentacles extending from its body. Covered in a black coat made of special material, it held a massive tubular weapon in its left hand. Its face was ugly and distorted, with suture marks, exposed teeth and gums, and most of its head covered, revealing only a pair of cold eyes. Its overall image radiated oppression and terror!
"What in the world is this?" the Adventurers wondered.
It differed from the Tanks and Witches they'd encountered, with a clear sense of modification and design, like a man-made humanoid weapon—it was the Tracker, the second level's BOSS!
White Crane Hermit warned, "Be careful, it must be extremely strong. Best to retreat immediately!"
As a seasoned veteran, he instantly saw through Lord Jack's intentions, explaining why the second level's security door was so easy to find—it was a trap!
If he wasn't mistaken, this monster was stronger than a Tank or a Witch. Challenging it unprepared would likely end in defeat.
These young Adventurers were too naive, believing a Lord with top-tier design skills would make such a blunder. They deserved a lesson!
As the Tracker appeared, the four Adventurers opened fire simultaneously.
Dada-da!
With limited scavenging, they had only a few submachine guns and pistols. Bullets failed to repel the Tracker and couldn't penetrate its black coat. The Adventurers realized the monster's clothing was bulletproof, rendering their attacks ineffective.
Then, an even more horrifying scene unfolded.
The Tracker's flamethrower spewed a fire dragon over ten meters long. The Adventurers, unprepared for such a weapon, were caught off guard.
"Ah!"
Ethan and Luna were engulfed by the flames, burning to charred remains on the spot.
"What the hell?" Mandy was terrified.
Lonely Swordsman was stunned.
Mandy exclaimed, "This guy can breathe fire? That's insane!"
Lonely Swordsman clarified, "It's not breathing fire; it's the weapon in its hand!"
The Adventurers exchanged glances.
Black Stone Hammer King remarked, "Isn't that even scarier? This zombie can use weapons?!"
White Crane Hermit urged, "Run!"
Indeed, run quickly!
This monster was too strong! Their weapons posed no threat. Instead of dying meaninglessly, it was better to retreat and devise a plan—there was still hope!
Mandy and Lonely Swordsman turned and ran, sprinting desperately for two streets. Once they felt out of range, they hid in a secluded mall.
"We should be safe now!"
"We were careless. I didn't expect Lord Jack to have such a powerful general!"
"No wonder he wasn't flustered when we defeated the Tank; he had a backup!"
"This new zombie has Tank-like attributes and can use a powerful weapon. Doesn't that make it stronger than a Tank?"
"What do we do now?"
"Everyone, give us some ideas!"
Just as they sighed in relief, discussing countermeasures with the Adventurers, something unexpected happened: the wall behind them, like paper, was smashed open by a burly figure.
The Tracker's ugly face reappeared!
This scene startled everyone, inside and out.
"Holy… crap!" Pig King's eyes widened. "It actually caught up!"
Lonely Swordsman didn't have time to grab his gun. A giant hand clamped onto his head, lifted him like a small chick, crushed his skull, and tossed him aside.
The Tracker remained silent, making no sound, discarding him like trash. Its gaze cold, it stepped toward Mandy, huddled in the corner.
"Mommy! Help!" Mandy cried, terrified.
She felt suffocated by fear.
This monster, silent and efficient, was like a killing machine! Compared to the larger, loud Tank or the eerie, screaming Witch Zombie, its silent oppression was far more terrifying!
No hesitation, no mercy.
The Tracker activated its flamethrower on Mandy. The high-pressure flames engulfed her, charring her inside and out. The Tracker sent off the last Adventurer with a fiery cremation!
Challenge failed!
The four retreated from the Secret Realm in disarray.
"What happened?"
"We hid, but the monster found us!"
"It's terrifying. I felt like it had intelligence, killing me like I was a pest!"
White Crane Hermit analyzed gravely, "This isn't an ordinary monster. It likely has high tracking ability and combat intelligence, using weapons and locking onto prey with powerful pursuit skills!"
Black Stone Hammer King asked, "So if we provoke it, even escaping won't save us?"
Pig King suggested, "Could we use a diversion, lure it away, and open the security door?"
"It's not that simple. This monster is highly intelligent. Guarding the door is its primary mission. It won't fall for such a trap," White Crane Hermit replied. "If I'm not mistaken, this is an elite Tier 2 monster!"
"What?"
"An elite Tier 2 monster?"
"Really?!"
"There aren't many elite monsters known in Black Stone Town combined!"
"Old Dean, could you be mistaken?!"
"..."
"Nonsense, I've studied Secret Realms and monsters my whole life. I know what I'm talking about. It's not just a Tier 2 monster, but a powerful one with excellent qualities."
White Crane Hermit sighed, "I didn't expect this young Lord to have such a trump card. It's quite a challenge for us Adventurers!"
It seems the potential of this Underground City is even higher than anticipated!
As for the Adventurers, after receiving this explosive news, they froze for a few seconds, then the fear and shock in their eyes morphed into excitement and greed!
