Chapter 25: The Strange Plague
The man collapsed to his knees before Milim, his voice hoarse with desperation.
"Please… I beg you, save my wife! She's dying!"
Milim instinctively stepped half a pace back. The room was damp and suffocating, heavy with the stench of mold and blood. On the bed, a woman gasped for air, her body covered in festering sores, trembling uncontrollably.
Ria quickly stepped forward, gripping her silver staff tightly.
"Milim, check her body. This might be a dangerous plague."
Milim swallowed hard and approached. But just as she raised her hand, the woman suddenly let out a piercing scream.
"Aaa!"
The scream tore through the air. Her body convulsed violently as the sores spread rapidly across her skin. Blood burst from every wound, splattering onto the walls, the floor, and Milim's dress.
Milim froze. Her heart pounded violently in her chest, her eyes wide and unblinking.
"Holy Light…" she whispered, her voice trembling.
