It was dark and the entire forest was quiet and eerie, the grass swayed for a while before moving to the side like someone touched them.
Kate ran through the forest like someone was chasing her, she didn't stop until she was right in front of the gate of the Hunter demon palace.
She had tried to check up on her dad when she realized that her dad's aura was starting to weaken. It was only right she ignored him but she couldn't help but worry for him.
She could send Nick but Nick was still in a regressive mind state, following Bei Shang around. She doesn't trust the attendants to not tell anyone and Uncle Summer is nowhere to be found.
The only choice left was to sneak into the only medically competent tribe in the whole realm.
She wrapped her cloak closer to herself and jumped over the wall. Seeing that the guards were dozing, she tiptoed around them and entered the palace using her old memories.
This wasn't the first time she was coming here, when she was younger, she would often sneak here to prank that psychopath; so it made it easier for her to jump around.
Perhaps she should play a few pranks on that bitch.
'Although her brother won't be so happy about that…'
She hid behind a pillar when she saw someone coming.
She did not realize that the Hunter she had met in the mortal realm was that psychopath's brother. They looked nothing alike.
She had once heard gossips from demons in the mortal realm that as soon as donia entered power , she killed everyone in her family except her illegitimate younger brother. Even when donia parents were alive , she had always been fond of the boy , carrying him wherever she was going or the little boy would tag along behind her , peeking from her back to look at strangers.

After she was sure that the place was temporarily empty, she started her search for the medical laboratory.
Their features were so dissimilar, it looked like they were strangers. His eyes were not pupilless, instead they were clear and bright, his smile wasn't cold and gloomy, instead it was sharp and warm. He wasn't pale and white instead his skin was tan and olive , quite an healthy glow ; his physical features gave the impression of a bright young man.
"I wonder what he ate …"
She opened the first door and checked inside; it was only a fruit store. She opened the second one, a weapon room, she opened the third one, a kitchen.
She opened the fourth door slowly and checked inside; She saw a man with his head lowered, although he looked like he was sleeping, Kate could hear harsh breathing.
It was only right she ignored it but her curiosity ended up rearing its head. She mumbled about how she needed to learn to mind her business before tiptoeing into the room.
The man didn't seem to notice she had entered, she knelt in front of the man and raised his chin.
"Wow …who would have guessed?"
The broody face was flushed and his cheeks were pink. His pink lips had turned bright red and his eyes were limpid. Seeing her, he let out a soft smile before placing his head on her shoulder.
Like an impudent cat, he placed his hand on her chest and pinched.
Kate didn't push him, instead her brow raised in amusement. She pinched his chin and raised his head again.
"How gullible are you to get into the hands of a leechous person?Who gave you an aphrodisiac? And where is your sister?"
Broody rubbed his face against her hand like a cat trying to please his master, his voice was hoarse.
"Big sis… in an expedition, Big sis warned me not to go out… disobeyed… A friend gave me…wine …I …I …drank wine… I notice something is wrong…I ran home…I am in the room…" He rubbed against her and started to kiss her neck " I don't know what to do…body so hot …"
"Why didn't you use medications? I know your sister have some?"

It's probably a blue night flower , that friend of his was so insidious they poisoned a drink with such a powerful aphrodisiac, probably wanted Broody to knock them up so they will marry into the family.

Broody started whining and then knelt so they could touch each other. He started to pull at her robe.
Kate smiled but she didn't stop his movement.
If there's one thing about Kate, she didn't make the first move with sexual advances. She often waited for people to make their intentions known , mostly through physical ways. Then suddenly the person will turn from the predator to the one slowly being prey.
It makes them wonder if it's the person eating her or if she eating the person.
Broody seeing a naked breast, turned even more red. He swallowed before looking at her. Seeing she wasn't objecting, he lowered his mouth to her nipple and gave it a lick.

Fortunately, the next room was the drug lab; she went to the containers and started checking for aura-strengthening drugs. Immediately she found it, she packed as many as she could and quickly left the palace.
Before she left, she made sure she entered Broody's room and gave him another long kiss.

By the time she came back, the day was already turning to a lighter shade of dark. She changed her clothes to avoid arousing suspicion from her dad, before going inside the room.
Her dad was looking at the garden at the time she entered. He was in his demon form, his animal characteristics showing; a light-looking tail moved back and forth.
"I brought you medicine" She dropped everything on the bed and turned to leave " Make sure you use it …"
Winter's voice was soft "You're so good to me…despite how I treated you …"
"I still haven't forgiven you, I'm just doing my filial responsibility "
Kate immediately dashed any hopes he had of reconciliation. She can make herself care for him but she can't forgive him.
The person he needed to truly apologize to wasn't her but to her mom and Uncle Summer. They were the ones who were dragged into his indecisive mess.
Winter clenched his fists silently.
"How is Autumn?"
"He's still in his regressive state, currently with his husband"
"What about Mitch?"
"Currently sleeping in his room with Iran, he's half mortal so he needs rest "
There was a silence between them. Seeing that her dad had no more questions, she turned to leave.
"Spring…"
Kate paused again "Yes?"

Kate clenched and unclenched her fist before shrugging her shoulders.
She walked outside and looked at the sky. She could see some attendants starting to go around doing their morning work, the guards were going through their shifts and the smell of food came from the kitchen.
The lesson she learnt in the mortal realm was that they can't change the past but they can do their best to move on, even if it's just one day at a time.
