The mortals often said that marriage was a big step , something to be thought about carefully , Just because two people like each other, doesn't mean they are compatible.
But for the Demons , they don't care about whether or not they are compatible, It was often ' You like me , I like you too , Let's invite our parents to discuss'
Like the true blooded demons they are ; the day after he had introduced Summer to her , the next day she dragged him home to see her parents.
Thunder comes from an humble home , and her parents are even humbler ,seeing that Winter was handsome and shy , They immediately took a liking to him and said that they put their blessings in the marriage.
That night as they were going home, Thunder climbed on his back and kissed his ear from behind, making him blush .
"How many kids do you want?"
Winter distracted by the breath on his ear , didn't think twice before responding "That depends on how many kids Summer can tolerate at once"
It was an open secret that Summer was uncomfortable around kids , he didn't want Summer avoid the palace after they have children.
"I didn't ask about summer, I asked about you"
Winter blinked , his head gears rotating before he nod his head "Ah sorry about that , I want 2 kids , a boy and a girl "
Thunder smiled and kissed his cheek "Winter, you're the first person I have ever liked so much"
"You too are the first person I like so much!"
"I come from a military family, I have loyalty in my bones. It's a huge flaw for me because I love just as deeply too " she hugged his neck tighter, her voice took on a sharp edge"Don't hurt me "
This should have been his cue ; it was a warning, a last chance for him , however he really was naive then, all what was in his head was how he wanted to experience love so much.
Winter nod his head "I promise I will never hurt you "

They had a small wedding, he would have loved for it to be big but thunder was the type to be stingy with money.
"In the end , what matters is how well we are able to keep this marriage "
On the day of the wedding , Summer was awfully quiet. He didn't make a sound right from the moment he and Thunder had the three bows or when he had grabbed thunder and kissed her right in front of the audience.
Seeing Thunder in the red dress calmed him down significantly. Summer was respectable, he will never go after a married woman.
It hurts summer now but he will later on realize it's for his own good. Summer was a general with a target on his back , he ending up with someone was going to be difficult in the future. No one wants to marry a soldier and worry about him getting killed or maimed.
He needed to do this , it was necessary.
He treated Summer extra well during the celebration feast , putting more food into his bowl .

Summer just stared blankly at him before nodding his head and stuffing the food in his mouth.

He could hear the heartbreak in the voice. Winter swallowed and looked aside , the mixture of guilt and relief swirling in his heart.
He looks up to see thunder looking at him , a strange emotion in her eyes. Winter swallowed, not knowing why he felt he was caught doing something wrong.

During the first year of their marriage, he noticed that every morning without fail , Thunder would go out to train in the garden. She had told him, she came from a military family, he just didn't know that her parents trained her too.
So he casually asked for a spar.
And ended up getting beat up mercilessly.
She paled when her palm accidentally hit his chest and the force made him hit an oak tree so hard, it shattered.
"Are you okay?!" she ran close to him and helped him up , her eyes were filled with tears " I am so sorry Winter, I should have gone easier on you ..."
Winter coughed out blood but still manage to raise a thumbs up; his blue eyes were twinkling " What do you think of becoming a second general?! "
"I don't want to be a solider , I am satisfied with my life , I want to be your queen and rule beside you"
Winter felt touched "Thunder , you will always be my queen. I want you to stay where your strengths lie and where you will be able to shine. You are not just a commoner I married, you will be the woman who rose up to power with her own might "
There was a thick silence between them , her eyes filled with unknown emotions.
"Winter , if I leave, I might die in the battlefield, you might become a widower "
"I won't let you die , Summer needs someone to be his equal and…"
"Summer again?"
Winter swallowed "huh "
"Are you sending me there because of him?"
Winter immediately shook his head , he didn't know why he was starting to feel guilty.
"No not at all , I .. I just wanted you to make a name for yourself other than being my wife"
There was a thick silence between them again , Winter was about to take back his words when she sighed.
"Okay I will do it"
Winter heart fell back into it's place and he kissed her , she laughed as she kissed him back.
"I love you thunder you won't regret it!"
She nodded " I love you too"

Winter refused the urge to widen his eyes in disbelief, This was the first time that Summer was defying him .
"Why don't you want her to join the army ? She's a great fighter"
Summer shook his head , his red eyes were filled with stubbornness.
Strange thoughts started to run through his head .
'was Summer starting to rebel against his authority? was Summer now tired of being a General and now eyeing the throne? was he still angry about him stealing Thunder from him?'
He rubbed his forehead as if that would chase the thoughts away " Summer listen to me, the burden of the military is too much for you , At one point every foe will target you and try to turn you against me ..."
"Winter "
Winter paused and stared at him " Yes "
"Why do you want her to join ?"
Winter opened his mouth, then he closed it. His voice went soft.
"Summer do you trust me?"
"You didn't answer my question…"
"Do you trust me?"
Summer slowly nod his head "Winter do you trust me?"
" Trust? of course I trust you..." To prove his point , he grabbed Summer hand and put it in between his own " Why did you ask?"
Summer stared at their hands before letting out a bitter laugh " You really make me so mad at times "
"What you don't like me touching you again ?" He wanted to pull it away but Summer held on to it, the action made him feel happy for some reason"You have been avoiding my touch this days"
Summer caressed the hand softly, and smiled at Winter " I will only agree because it's you"
'Ah , he only listens to me.'
Winter could feel that familiar tingling sensation in his spine again, Subconsciously his breathing quickened and his eyes turned hazy.
He tried to move forward , but someone opened the door momentarily distracting him.
"Thunder..."
She looked passed him and stared straight into the room , her eyes and hair were brimming with electricity.
At that moment Winter didn't know why but a sense of shame washed over him.
He slapped Summer hand away and smiled at thunder .
"Thunder ... what are you doing here ?"
Thunder seem to snap out of it , with extraordinary strength , she grabbed his wrist and pulled him to her side.
"He's my husband !!" She growled and snap her teeth at Summer " Mine !!"
Winter felt shivers " What's wrong with you thunder?"
Summer laughed, grabbed his other wrist and then pulled him to his side " He is my best friend! "
"Shut up !!!"
"Can someone please tell me what's going on ?!"
Thunder managed to wank him away from Summer and drag him away;
His eyes rolled with dizziness " Thunder please reduce the speed..."
She pretended like she didn't hear him before locking the bedroom door , slamming him against the door and giving him an aggressive kiss .
The kiss was different. it wasn't like the gentle touches and love she normally gives him , it was intense, like she wanted to swallow him.
He felt a sense of dread but he stood steadfast. This was a way of Thunder showing her love , this was a form of love and it should feel good. It even felt good!
She kissed him till he went dizzy ; only when he started moaning with protest, did she let him go.
He took in a deep breath and slid to the ground.
"I am sorry for leaving without telling you" Winter coughed out , his eyes was teary " I just wanted to inform him about somethings"
Thunder just stared at him for a long while before sighing. She squatted to his level ; and reached out her hand to pat his head.
"Winter...." She moved closer to him then breathe into his ear , his earlobe reddened immediately "No matter what ever happens... you're mine"
Winter nod his head.

The snake demon tribe finally raised their heads and attacked the Huli Jing clan. This was the time to test the army military poweress.
Seeing that he wasn't going to see his precious wife for at least half a year , he carved a small jade pendant and gave it to her.
"I hope this will keep you safe , Take care of yourself okay?"
Thunder looked at the pendant , her eyes soft with affection.

After she have left , he took out another pendant and st
ared at it. He was thinking of giving it to Summer but recently Summer have been avoiding him like the plague.
He sighed deeply and stare at the sky till his eyes burned.
