Chapter 22 - KRYPT-Ch.22: I Don’t Need to Train! I Just Need to Lie Down!

Matthew Atkinson

Oxford

After class, the students were all preparing to go to the training center, but Matthew was preparing to run away.

During these seven days, he had attended the training center and participated in training, but for some reason, no matter how hard he trained, it had no effect.

Not a single attribute of his increased!

He had to say, Kryptonian Bloodline was really quite strange. Only sunlight worked on it!

No wonder everyone thinks it was a useless ability.

Although the other living Kryptonian Bloodline user had already tried every possible training method and hadn't achieved any results.

If he could improve through training, people wouldn't call his Kryptonian Bloodline a useless ability.

Since the training had no effect, there was certainly no need for Matthew to subject himself to suffering.

Since the day before yesterday, when his classmates went to training, he would sneak back to the dormitory to sleep...

But this time, Professor Holland caught him.

"Matthew! Everyone's going to training, where are you going?"

Professor Holland's voice drew a great deal of attention.

Matthew, who was caught, had a headache, so he made an excuse and said, "My stomach feels uncomfortable, I'm going to the toilet."

Professor Holland seemed very angry. He pulled Matthew aside and asked, "Matthew, are you planning to give up on yourself?"

"Ah? About that…" Matthew didn't know what to say.

Training was useless to him. If he could sunbathe every day, his attributes would skyrocket.

Why should he train so hard?

"Think about your parents, think about those who care about you. They definitely don't want to see you so depressed..."

Professor Holland started preaching Matthew, "You can train with everyone else. Even if your attributes don't increase, at least you can learn some fighting techniques. More skills mean more hope in the spiritual realm! If you still want to return home alive, work hard and strive to improve yourself. Do you understand? If you have any questions, feel free to ask me."

Hearing these words, Matthew was quite moved.

This Professor had a cold appearance but a warm heart and cared about every student.

Only…

There were some secrets that he could not tell the professor for the time being.

So, he remained silent.

Seeing that Matthew didn't speak, a hint of disappointment flashed in Professor Holland's eyes, and he finally sighed.

"If you really want to give up on yourself, I won't stop you!"

After saying this, Professor Holland turned and left.

The students were still waiting for him.

For students, training was not as simple as working out; it required professional people to assist and guide them.

Because if you overtrain or use the wrong training method, it may cause adverse effects!

As the head teacher of Class B, Professor Holland's daily task was to guide students and find suitable training methods for them.

Watching the Professor taking the students away, Matthew thought about it and decided not to follow.

It would be better for Professor Holland to give up on him, or better yet, ignore him.

'Or why don't I just drop out of college?' This thought arose in Matthew's mind.

Because he didn't want to reveal his secret yet, but he also didn't want to give up the extremely high rewards in the spiritual realm...

However, dropping out of college was not a trivial matter, and he was still weighing the decision.

Seeing that Matthew still didn't catch up, Old Chu could only sigh helplessly.

Matthew himself had decided to give up. He was just a professor, so no matter how much he said, it would be of no use.

At this time, a voice sounded from the side.

"Professor Holland."

Upon hearing this, Professor Holland turned around and saw Professor Grant from Class A, who was also on her way to the training hall with her students.

"Professor Grant." He responded quickly.

Judging from Professor Holland's expression, he seemed a little in awe of Professor Grant.

"Professor Holland, what happened to that student? Why didn't he come with us?"

The person Professor Grant was referring to was naturally Matthew, who was standing there without moving.

Professor Holland sighed and said, "That kid has given up on himself."

Professor Grant was moved when he heard this and immediately asked, "Is his name Matthew?"

"Right!"

Professor Holland nodded, glanced at the students in Class A, and finally saw Natalie Russell in the crowd.

"Speaking of which, his self-destructive behavior has a lot to do with Natalie Russell from your class!"

One week was enough to spread a lot of news on campus.

It was no longer a secret in the university that the male and female protagonists of the incident that had caused a sensation across the country had both become freshmen at the University of Oxford.

Many netizens on the Internet are also aware of it.

"Yeah?"

Professor Grant smiled and didn't take Mr. Holland's words to heart.

The two of them just exchanged a few words and then went their separate ways.

On the other side, seeing Professor Holland walking away, Matthew also left the place and walked out of the school.

More than an hour later...

He walked out of the sunbathing experience center with a satisfied smile on his face.

Many men on the street saw his appearance, looked towards the experience center in surprise, and then showed puzzled expressions.

'No way? Is there a happy ending package here as well? I should try it next time!'

Matthew didn't know that his smile had caused misunderstanding among passers-by.

He stopped a self-driving taxi on the roadside, got in, and opened his attribute panel.

.........

Race: Human

Constitution: 130 (↑70)

Mental: 47 (↑21)

Strength: 130 (↑70)

Agility: 130 (↑70)

Ability: Kryptonian Bloodline

Attribute Points: 0

.........

This was Matthew's current attribute panel.

It had been 12 days since he got his Kryptonian Bloodline.

In just 12 days, he had developed such remarkable attributes, which were truly amazing!

But.

Matthew looked at the balance on his phone and frowned slightly...

When he came to the University of Oxford, his parents transferred 10,000 GBP to his card.

Only twelve days had passed, and he had already spent two thousand pounds.

Of the two thousand pounds, apart from a few hundred pounds spent on meals in the cafeteria, the remaining more than one thousand pounds was all spent on the sunbathing experience center and the daily round-trip fare.

He still had to find a way to make money!

It would be best if he could buy a sunbathing device!

Running back and forth like this every day was not only expensive but also troublesome.

A while later.

The car stopped at the gate of the University of Oxford.

Matthew paid and got out of the car. As soon as he entered from the gate, he ran into an acquaintance, Natalie Russell!

The girl seemed to be waiting for him here on purpose.

"Huh? Natalie, why are you here?" Matthew asked.

The girl was straightforward. "I'm waiting for you."

"Oh? You want to talk to me about something?"

"Matthew, I heard that you didn't even participate in training?"

Upon hearing this, Matthew knew why this girl wanted to talk.

He said helplessly, "Yes."

He thought the girl might lecture him.

Unexpectedly, Natalie just whispered, "I'm not here to persuade you, I hope you can agree to team up with me to go to the supernatural realm!"

She felt very regretful and thought that if she had not accepted Matthew's Flame-Flame Fruit, Matthew would not have given up on himself like this.

Matthew was stunned, not quite understanding what this girl was thinking.

He was about to refuse again, but suddenly an idea struck him, causing him to change his mind...

"Do you really want to team up with me? Aren't you afraid that I will take advantage of you and your power?" Matthew asked.

Natalie nodded firmly: "Yes! Even if you take advantage of me, I am willing to do it. I owe you this."

Upon hearing this, Matthew immediately retorted, "Don't feel like you owe me anything. We exchanged extraordinary opportunities willingly, and we owe each other nothing. If you continue to hold onto this thought, forget about forming a team."

This guy was so bad!

Why couldn't Natalie stop feeling indebted to him? Matthew already felt at least partially guilty for taking the Kryptonian Bloodline from her.

Frankly, he didn't want to deceive or take advantage of Natalie anymore. She didn't deserve this.

Natalie didn't think so much at all.

Hearing that Matthew was willing to team up, the girl immediately said, "Okay, we owe each other nothing."
