Chapter 21 - KRYPT-Ch.21: Amnesiac Layer

Mathew Atkinson

Oxford

In the blink of an eye, a week passed.

During this week, Professor Holland took everyone to the training center every day to participate in various training sessions.

According to Professor Holland, if their ability required a strong mental attribute to release, such as some energy-based superpowers, including logia-type devil fruits, then they should go to the 'pandemonium center' to train their spirit.

If their abilities leaned towards strength or constitution, they should go to a physical training center, such as a gravity room, to enhance their physical fitness and body.

The speed-type abilities could be trained by sprinting, avoiding obstacles, and playing games like "Whack-a-Mole", which all exercise the nerve reaction ability.

Matthew had been to each of these training centers once.

Everything else is fine, but the Pandemonium Center was not a suitable place for people to stay for long.

The Pandemonium Center was a specially designed training center. Not only was the architectural form extremely distorted, but there were also many strange and suggestive patterns painted on the walls, the kind that would make people dizzy if they looked at them for too long.

It was said that these patterns were things from the Supernatural Realm, which humans memorized and then re-painted in the Pandemonium Center.

Staring at these patterns would quickly drain people's mental energy, make them dizzy, and long-term exposure may even cause brain damage.

However, if people controlled the viewing time and used it to exercise their mental strength, the effect would be very good!

It was much better than the traditional method of constantly consuming mental energy by using the ability, waiting for it to regenerate, and then repeating the process.

He had to say. Human wisdom was endless. Perhaps the most essential weapon humanity possessed was its wisdom and imagination.

The Holy Land had only been around for over a hundred years, yet humans had developed numerous training devices with targeted training methods for each fundamental attribute and ability.

Of course, these training methods require individuals with supernatural abilities to train in order to achieve significant effects and enhance their attributes.

The potential and upper limit of ordinary people were there, and no matter how much they trained, they could never become supernatural people.

Morning.

Matthew attended class as usual.

As soon as the bell rang, Professor Holland appeared in the classroom on time.

"It's been a week. How's your search for teammates going? Does everyone have teammates?"

Most of the students raised their hands, indicating that they had found their teammates.

The other ones, one-third of the students, looked a little anxious.

Matthew was naturally among this one-third, but he didn't look anxious at all.

Professor Holland was quite satisfied with the students' progress and said, "After you find your teammates, it's best to train with them. In addition to training your attributes, you should also train your coordination."

"When fighting monsters in the Supernatural Realm, tacit cooperation can often yield miraculous results!"

Upon hearing this, the students nodded in agreement.

After a week of getting to know each other, everyone had realized that Professor Holland looked fierce but was actually a warm-hearted person with a cold exterior and was very responsible to his students.

At this time, a student raised his hand and asked, "Professor, it's been a week. Why have you only taught us how to train and not talked about knowledge about the Supernatural Realm?"

Upon hearing this, Professor Holland asked, "What aspect of the Supernatural Realm do you want to learn about?"

The student asked, "Knowledge related to the first layer of the Supernatural Realm! For example, what do the monsters in the first layer of the Supernatural Realm look like? What are their attack methods? And what are their weaknesses?"

Professor Holland shook his head upon hearing this: "I can't teach you that, because the first layer of the Supernatural Realm is an Amnesiac Layer!"

"Amnesiac Layer?"

Many students exclaimed.

Some students were relatively calm, obviously knowing this information in advance.

Governments of all countries have expressly prohibited the disclosure of relevant information about the Supernatural Realm Layers. Only by attending a supernatural university could one access detailed information about the Supernatural Realm and its layers.

This world's artificial intelligence was highly developed. If anyone spreads information about the Supernatural Realm online, they would be detected immediately, their account would be blocked and deleted, and they would face sanctions with unfavorable outcomes.

Of course, if it were spread privately among relatives, no one would be held accountable as long as no one reports it.

For example, relatively calm students likely had elders or relatives in their family who were extraordinary individuals.

The higher-ups restricted the spread of information about the Supernatural Realm simply because they wanted to recruit high-potential people through this move.

As long as people entered a supernatural university, their information, including their gains in the Supernatural Realm and progress in training, would become transparent to the eyes of the higher-ups.

If they showed great potential, someone would come in order to contact them.

"No need to make a fuss!" Professor Holland said, "There are many amnesiac layers in the supernatural realm; even in the first ten layers, there are several."

"The so-called Amnesiac Layer means that after a supernatural person successfully returns, they will forget everything that happened in that layer of the Supernatural Realm. In simple terms, your memories of the first layer of the Supernatural Realm will be lost upon your return!"

"So, up to now, no one knows what is in the first layer of the Supernatural Realm."

Hearing this, a student immediately stood up and said, "Since we will lose our memories, why not write down the relevant information from the Supernatural Realm on paper? Or write it on your clothes. Wouldn't that allow you to bring the information back?"

Professor Holland smiled upon hearing this. "This method has been thought before. In fact, to obtain information about the first layer of the Supernatural Realm, they even conducted experiments abroad. They had people enter the Supernatural Realm and then directly engraved information on their skin. But it still didn't work!"

"Because, in this Amnesiac Layer, as long as you can come back alive, you will be the same as when you entered, without any changes!"

"Even if you carve words into your skin or injure yourself, everything will be restored when you get out! Even your torn clothes will be restored!"

"Don't think the Supernatural Realm is so simple. There won't be any loopholes in the Supernatural Realm for you to exploit."

Hearing this, many students showed surprised expressions. Even Matthew was surprised.

Was the Amnesiac Layer so magical?

Wouldn't that be an excellent opportunity for him to showcase his skills? Even if others saw him, it wouldn't matter!

Anyway, everyone would lose their memory when they come out!

Thinking of this, Matthew smiled.

"Oh, right!"

Professor Holland seemed to have thought of something and added, "Although the Amnesiac Layer will erase all memories about the Supernatural Realm, your mission and kill records in the Supernatural Realm can still be checked. So, when you come out of the Supernatural Realm, don't deliberately lie about your rewards and gains in order to get into Class A."

This made the students smile.

Only Matthew's face changed drastically!

What the hell?

Could they check his results about the Supernatural Realm? What about privacy rights?

Most importantly, he was planning to wreak havoc in the Supernatural Realm and claim the highest reward with extra bonuses!

Now he knew that the university would check his results, could he still have fun and aim for the highest scores?

As soon as others saw his results, they would definitely doubt him. How could someone with a useless ability get the highest score in the Supernatural Realm?

It might even attract investigation from interested parties.

You know, some people in the Holy Land had acquired the ability to read minds, and these individuals eventually entered the government's special departments...

By then, wouldn't the secret of the Kryptonian Bloodline be exposed entirely?

Alternatively, Matthew could forgo the highest reward. After entering the supernatural realm, he could act like ordinary people in there, like the other Kryptonian Bloodline users, and survive until the end.

This was indeed possible.

However, Matthew was unwilling to give up the extra rewards that were so easily obtainable by him!

The extra reward was nothing more than generous "attribute points".

Additionally, there was a chance of receiving a supernatural item as an additional reward.

But for this to happen, he had to achieve a high level of results.
