Chapter 19: Breaking Point

I had been huddled in my room all through the night. The trauma of the previous night still raked through my body, and I had been staring at the empty space, at the bare walls, doing absolutely nothing.
I hadn't been able to speak or to move. I had just remained in one position, staring at the moon, my head blank. The only thing I could see was him staring down at me with his angry gaze—like he wanted to kill me, but killing me wouldn't bring him any satisfaction.
Another tear dripped down from my eyes. The fact that I was helpless made it even harder and more painful. And I hadn't heard from my pack members. What had befallen my kingdom?
It couldn't be that all of them were dead, that everything was destroyed.
I shuddered at the thought.
Greta... my aunt... my family. Were they all killed?
