Stephanie's POV
Man, I was having such a good morning. For the first time in forever, my stomach wasn't doing flip-flops. I was chilling on the back porch in my super soft robe. You know, the fancy one Cane got me. The sun felt amazing. Cane had just headed out to the office for a quick meeting. He gave me a kiss before he left and said he'd be back soon.
The quiet was nice. I had some apple juice and one of those magazines about babies. I was looking at pictures of little rooms painted yellow and green. I even caught myself humming. Everything just felt... good, you know? Really good.
Then I heard it. The clicking of heels. My happy mood just poof, disappeared. My first thought was, Oh no, not more drama.
But when the porch door opened, it was way worse. It was Constantine. Myron's mom. Cane's... well, his big mess from the past.
