Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 Jealousy

Arthur's life changed completely since Clara became an employee at Ruby Hotel. He couldn't move freely at all and felt like he was being watched by his grandfather's chosen son-in-law. Even though Clara herself wasn't interested in the personal life of the heir to the largest hotel in the city of Vellfire.

"Of all the places in this hotel, why did you choose this place?" Arthur protested as he was about to have lunch in the hotel cafeteria.

"Why? Is there a rule that employees can't eat here? Isn't this a public cafeteria?" Clara replied, her mouth full of food.

"You did that on purpose, didn't you?" Arthur looked annoyed.

"Deliberately what? I don't understand what you mean."

"You!!" Arthur's cell phone rang, but he ignored it. Clara was annoyed by the ringing of the Ruby Hotel heir's cell phone and told him to answer it.

"It's noisy!" she replied.

"What?" Arthur responded.

"Your phone! It's noisy! Can you answer it first? It's very distracting!" she said firmly.

Arthur finally reached into his black suit jacket and took out his phone. Several missed calls were clearly displayed on the screen. 'Cindy? What's going on?' he thought.

Clara finished her lunch and was about to leave, but Arthur suddenly told her to stay seated.

"Sit down!" Arthur ordered.

"Why? I'm done," Clara replied.

"But I'm not!"

"That's your problem!" Clara said indifferently, leaving Arthur. Several employees who saw Clara's selfish attitude began to dislike her and looked at her cynically.

"Looks like we need to teach that new employee a lesson!" whispered one of the employees.

"You're right! Ever since that woman started working here, there have been incidents that have made Mr. Arthur angry and upset with us."

"That's right!"

"Hey, new girl!" one of the employees approached Clara, who had finished her lunch and was about to leave the cafeteria.

"Yes, what is it?" Clara responded casually.

"Don't cause trouble here! You're the new kid! Trying to suck up to Mr. Arthur, are you?" the female employee snapped.

"Trying to impress? Mr. Arthur?" Clara smirked.

"Watch your mouth! Who are you to call Mr. Arthur by his first name!"

Clara took a deep breath. On the other hand, Arthur saw the woman his grandfather had chosen being approached by several of his female employees.

'What are they doing?' thought Arthur, as his cell phone rang again.

"Yes, honey."

(Why didn't you answer my call! Am I no longer your priority?) Cindy whined on the other end of the line.

"No... it's not like that, I'm busy with work. What's up, Honey?"

(Come with me to the salon, okay?)

"When?"

(Now!)

"What? Now? Honey, I'm working. Grandpa would kill me if he found out."

(Oh, okay... fine, bye-)

"Cindy... Cindy... okay, I'll come with you. Where are you?"

(I'm waiting in the lobby downstairs)

Without wasting any time, Arthur immediately headed to the lobby downstairs, passing Clara who was surrounded by several female employees.

They only glanced at each other, Arthur completely ignoring what Clara was going through. The female employees laughed smugly and teased Clara incessantly.

"Haha, I thought Mr. Arthur was going to defend you, but it turns out he just walked by and didn't care!" scoffed one of the female employees.

"Right! If I were you, I'd get out of here!" replied another employee.

"Are you done?" asked Clara. "If you're done, I want to get back to work, excuse me."

"Tsk, how annoying! Who does he think he is! I have to get him out of this hotel!" said one of the employees curtly.

It turned out that a man in casual clothes was secretly watching Clara. After the woman left, he also left and called someone.

"Sir, Miss Clara has just been bullied by several female employees working at the Ruby Hotel."

(Send the photo!)

After the man sent the photo, he left immediately while Clara returned to work. As she passed through the lobby, she saw Arthur with a tall, beautiful woman with brunette hair and sexy clothes draping her arm around Arthur's. Clara paused for a moment and took a photo of the two of them. "Looks like that woman is Cindy! I got you," said Clara with a satisfied smile.

"Honey, come with me to the salon; my hair needs some care again," Cindy whined.

"Excuse me..." Clara suddenly approached Arthur and Cindy.

'What does she want now?' thought Arthur.

"Sorry, Mr. Arthur, we're expecting an important guest from Dubai today, and the CEO wants you to accompany the guest." Clara smiled at Cindy, but Arthur's girlfriend responded with a cynical look.

"Who are you? How dare you interrupt our conversation!" Cindy snapped. "Honey, who is she?"

"She's a new employee here," Arthur explained.

"Oh, a new employee... no wonder! Hey, newbie! Let me introduce myself, I'm Cindy Redwood, Arthur Volkskrant's girlfriend!"

"Nice to meet you, Miss Cindy. How about you, Mr. Arthur? Would you be willing to meet our VVIP guest?" Clara asked again.

Arthur nodded. "Honey, I'm sorry."

"So you won't accompany me to the salon?" Cindy was a little annoyed as she tugged at Arthur's arm.

"I want to, but I have more important work to do," he explained.

Clara smiled faintly, she was very satisfied seeing the expression on the face of the woman who was the successor's girlfriend at Ruby Hotel.

"Forget it! I'll go by myself!" Cindy left with a very annoyed look on her face, Arthur chasing after her while Clara waved her hand with a satisfied smile. 'Did she choose the wrong partner? Only women who rely on their beauty to attract rich men!'

"Miss Clara Delevon!" Arthur called out loudly.

"Yes, what is it, sir?"

"Come with me!" he ordered with an annoyed expression.

'Oh... oh... it seems he's very angry!'

Clara and Arthur went into a room. With a displeased expression, Reinhard Garcia's grandson stared at the woman in front of him without blinking, from head to toe.

"What's wrong, sir?" Clara asked casually.

"That was your trick, wasn't it?!"

"What do you mean, sir?" replied Clara, confused.

"Enough! Don't pretend anymore! I know people like you very well! There are no important guests from Dubai, it's all just a trick of yours!" snapped Arthur.

"Oh, so you know? That's good then," she replied casually.

"Miss Clara Delevon!" Arthur slammed the door shut. "Don't think that just because your grandfather supports you, you can get big-headed! At home, you can flatter and influence my grandfather, but here... I'm in charge! Understand?" Arthur left the room. Clara smiled as if laughing at herself. Clenching her fists, the woman said, "If it weren't for my parents' last wish, I wouldn't have become a sycophant and your wife, Arthur Volkskrant!"
