Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 Brave and Crazy Woman

Arthur slammed his fist on the table in his office. He was furious and annoyed with Clara's attitude, which he considered selfish and domineering.

"I can't let that woman do whatever she wants anymore! Grandpa needs to know what she's doing at this hotel!" Arthur took his cell phone from his jacket pocket and called his grandfather, but unfortunately, his calls were rejected several times.

"Damn it! What's wrong with Grandpa?! Why did he suddenly reject my call? This must be the work of that damn woman!" Arthur stormed out of his room with an angry expression. When he approached Clara's desk, he saw the woman laughing while holding her cell phone. Emily panicked and nudged her coworker's elbow.

"Clara... Mr. Arthur..." whispered Emily, seeing the glaring eyes and anger on the handsome manager's face.

"Looks like this is going to be hot news in this hotel!" Ami approached, ready to take a video.

"Miss Clara! Is this how you work? Do you consider yourself a professional?" Arthur's voice was so loud that it echoed throughout the room.

"What did I do wrong this time, Mr. Arthur? Haven't I shown my loyalty and dedication to this hotel? Why are you yelling at me?" retorted Clara, standing face to face with Arthur.

"Miss Clara! How dare you! Don't you see who you're talking to? Show some respect!" scolded Ami.

Clara ignored Ami's rant. Her hazel eyes remained focused on Arthur without blinking. This woman showed no fear. On the contrary, Clara's attitude, which Arthur considered too dominant, made him nervous and uncomfortable.

'I have to get her out of this hotel! Why did Grandpa insist on putting her here, anyway!

"Mr. Arthur, will you implement my idea? Or... should we invite the CEO of Ruby Hotel to come and listen to my idea clearly?" Clara smiled broadly.

"Hah, don't even dream about it! Do you even know who the CEO of Ruby Hotel is, Miss Clara Delevon? No one has ever met him! Besides, why would he bother coming here just to listen to your matchmaking ideas!" Ami sneered with a smirk.

"Oh, I see..." Clara glanced at Arthur, but he immediately turned his face away.

'I'll make the game you've been playing perfect!' Clara thought to herself.

"Well, we'll see if my idea will be accepted by the CEO or not." Clara crossed her arms, her lips continuing to curl without hesitation. Arthur became increasingly annoyed and finally left the beautiful woman's desk.

"I'm curious to know who is behind you, Clara Delevon!" Ami narrowed her eyes, approaching her rival. "I'm going to find out who that man is!"

"Man?" Clara looked at Ami in confusion. "Who are you talking about, Miss Ami?"

"Don't play dumb! I know everything! You're a bad woman! Too naive!"

Clara shook her head. She wanted to laugh, but if she did too obviously, her plan would be ruined.

"You said earlier that you had never met the CEO of Ruby Hotel?" Clara raised one eyebrow.

"Why? I have met him!" replied Ami, her colleagues were surprised and looked at each other. Clara quickly caught the signal of deception from this arrogant woman.

"Oh, if Miss Ami has indeed met him... please help me deliver my proposal earlier, how about it?" whispered Clara.

Ami was stunned! Her eyes widened, her lips immediately stiffened.

"What? Why are you silent? Don't you know him?" Clara asked again.

'Damn! Is she baiting me?' Ami thought to herself.

"I-I'll give it to him! You make the proposal first!" Ami ordered, immediately turning away from Clara's desk.

"You're so brave!" Emily came over and gave her two thumbs up.

"He's human, just like you and me. Why should we be afraid?" Clara replied casually.

"But I suggest you be careful from now on because after the way you treated him earlier, I'm sure Ami and her friends will continue to undermine you until you leave this hotel, just like the others," explained Emily.

"Relax, I'm not like the others," the beautiful woman's mouth and eyes formed a crescent moon, Emily just let out a long sigh and patted Clara's shoulder gently. "I believe in you, Clara."

***

It was almost midnight and Clara was still working on her laptop. All the Ruby Hotel staff had gone home, except for her and... Arthur Volkskrant.

"You should go home now! I don't want Grandpa lecturing me and accusing me of things I didn't do!" the man snapped as he walked away from Clara.

"Mind your own business, Mr. Arthur! Don't worry about me, just pretend I'm not here," replied Clara, still facing her laptop.

"You!!!"

Arthur's annoyance was diverted by his ringing cell phone. When he saw it, he didn't answer it right away. Clara glanced at him. "I told you to just pretend I'm not here! It's Cindy, isn't it?"

"How did you know?"

"Hah, all men have the same expression when they receive a call from their girlfriend."

"At least he's better than you!" Arthur retorted.

"Yes, he is better, but he's not luckier!" Clara replied with a thin but deadly smile.

CRASH!

Arthur slammed his fist on Clara's desk again! This time, the manager's body was so close that they could feel each other's breath.

"What? Do you think I'll get turned on just because you're so close?" Clara asked, staring at Arthur's handsome face.

On the contrary, Reinhard's grandson seemed transfixed and mesmerized by Clara's clear hazel eyes that held a million mysteries. He was silent for a moment until Clara's finger snap startled him.

"Are you starting to be charmed by me, Mr. Arthur?" Clara teased.

"Don't be crazy!" Arthur tried to pull away, but suddenly Clara grabbed his tie, pulling them so close there was no space between them.

"Do you know why I rejected you two years ago, Arthur Volkskrant?" whispered Clara, accidentally noticing someone looking surprised at their position. Without thinking twice, Clara moved her lips closer to Arthur's ear. The man tried to pull away, but Clara's grip was too tight. Her eyes glanced towards the door outside the hotel staff room. "Because you're like a donkey."

"What!!!!" Arthur forcefully released Clara's grip. His eyes widened! He loosened his tie, while Clara just looked at him with a blank stare, as if she was enjoying watching a male stripper undressing in front of her.

"Want me to help? Is there anything else you want to open?" Clara teased.

"Crazy woman! I don't know how I ever liked you and Danton...."

Clara immediately stabbed him with her sharp gaze!

"Oh, so you still hold a grudge against your lover!" Arthur laughed mockingly. "If you still love him, why did you let him go? But if I were Danton, I would also choose Alysa! She's sexy... beautiful... and one more thing... she's not a psychopath like you!"

Clara's jaw tightened! Her gaze was very sharp... the woman stood up and deliberately moved closer to him.

"What are you doing! I'm warning you, we're still at the office! Don't be crazy, Clara!" Arthur took a step back until his body hit the wall. His cell phone rang again, this time Clara quickly picked it up and answered the call.

"Clara! Stop it! Don't be crazy!" Arthur shouted, trying to grab the phone.

(Hello! Honey... Honey!) Cindy shouted on the other end of the line.

"Clara Delevon, I'm warning you for the last time!" Arthur began to raise his voice.

"Hello, are you Miss Cindy?" Clara began to speak.

(Who are you! Where's Arthur? Honey, who is she? Why does she have your phone? Arthur!) Cindy yelled on the other end of the line, while Clara continued to hold Reinhard's grandson's phone tightly.

"Okay, what do you want? Tell me! I'll grant it, but please give me back your phone," Arthur's voice began to soften.

"Hello, I'm Clara. I'm Arthur Volkskrant's coworker and his fiancée..."

(What!! Fiancée) Cindy screamed hysterically. (I want to talk to Arthur! Give it to him!) Cindy shouted.

Clara smiled broadly, threw Arthur's phone back, returned to her desk, and tidied it up.

(She's your fiancée? Who was that woman? Why did she have your phone?!) Cindy shouted.

"Honey, I can explain! It's all just a misunderstanding. She's an employee at this hotel. She's crazy because her boyfriend left her!" Arthur explained.

Clara leaned against the edge of the desk, crossing her arms as she watched the panic of the most handsome man in the city of Vellfire.

"Honey, don't listen to him! She's been crazy about me since forever!"

(Fire her! I don't care!)

"Okay... okay! I'll fire him! And even if you hadn't said anything, I wanted to kick him out of this hotel anyway, dear!" Arthur looked at Clara with utter contempt. After hanging up the phone, Arthur approached Clara. His gaze was terrifying! In a flat, heavy voice, the man said, "I'll kick him out of here! Don't blame me if I'm mean to you!"

"It depends!" Clara replied casually.

Arthur looked confused. "It depends?"

Clara nodded. "It depends on how you can convince your grandfather to kick me out of here!" Clara answered, straightening her body and walking away from Arthur.

'Damn it! That woman really needs to be taught a lesson!'
