"All this time… it must've been hard for you, right? I'm sorry," Devid said quietly. "As your older brother, I wasn't there when you needed me the most. You had to endure so much on your own."
I didn't know how to react after hearing all of that. It was shocking—something I never could've imagined.
"Well, Devid, honestly… I didn't even know you existed," I admitted. "And I don't consider those people my family anymore. Especially Arin—I hate him to death."
Devid gently placed his hand over mine. "Zane, your older brother is here now. So don't worry about anything from this point on."
I used to think that after my grandparents died—and after seeing how my parents treated me—I had no one I could trust or who truly loved me.
But then, I got pregnant, and my kids became my entire world. And now… I've found an older brother who actually sees me as family.
