"I learnt you went to that dreadful company recently to look for a job." Camilla began.
She swirled spaghetti around her fork, bringing it to her mouth, munching slowly. After she was done, she washed it down with a glass of red wine, then she gazed at me.
"Is that how low you've dropped? I mean, you are aware that Aeterion Labs is one of Helix Biotech's biggest rivals. Don't you?" Camilla questioned.
Owen shot me a sharp look. His once relaxed face slowly swirled into one of irritation. "Did she?"
Camilla bobbed her head. "I have a contact who mentioned seeing her there."
The uramaki sushi in my mouth unexpectedly tasted like soaked toilet paper, so I forced it down my throat with a glass of water. I set down the glass cup, my fingers clenched around it tight until my knuckles turned white.
"Did she get the job?" Owen asked, one brow raised. He scoffed, his fingers waved in dismissal. "No one would want to employ someone like her anyway."
