Miranda entered Nolan's office with deliberate force, shutting the door firmly behind her. The tension from her body radiated through the room as she crossed her arms, fixing him with a piercing stare.
"You gave us away," she announced without preamble.
Nolan continued reviewing documents, his composure infuriatingly intact. He leaned back in his leather chair, exhaling slowly as if he'd been anticipating this confrontation.
"I don't know what you're talking about," he replied, voice level and controlled.
Miranda stepped closer to his desk, frustration mounting. "Clara noticed. She saw right through us, Nolan. The tension." She paused, acknowledging her own role. "Your behavior was completely obvious. You walked in, dropped the mail, and didn't even acknowledge me. No greeting, nothing. And just like that, she knew. It was painfully evident."
Nolan finally looked up, rubbing his jaw thoughtfully. "I wasn't approaching it that way. I don't typically conceal my relationships."
